Claiming it as my best day fishing ever!Which is a BIG call for me.Heading down to locks well and a MASSIVE school of salmon sitting in a gutter about 40m out.Grabbed my favourite lure Duel Adagio and proceeded to cast for hours on end until my arms were sooooo sore!Normally these schools hold fish 1-3kg but ended up hooking a donkey of a fish!New PB salmon from the surf for me went 5.8kg.Few sharks hanging out the back and kept the school of fish right there. didn't really want to hook a 10ft bronzie but when you foul hook a salmon I suppose it's easy food for him.Thank goodness got my lure back!awesome fun! went back the next day with my whiting rod 6lb line but the school had moved to far out the back to cast

Now I'm just showing off!!kept 2 fish from yesterday arvo down the stairs and let go more than 20 fish mostly this size if not a bit bigger.Have been down to locks well 5 times in the last week - that's 1415 steps down and 1415 steps up. Gonna get fit if I keep this up!!

Schools of fish are still around at the moment!I'm like a kid in a candy store!! I can't help myself I love hooking the salmon and letting them go!gonna take my whiting rod there this arvo for a fish. but I reckon a 5kg slob out of the surf will test my fishing abilities!

Luv fishing locks. We only got large salmon trouties last time I was there but they were still fun on light gear with lures.Great 'slamon' @ 5.8kgs.Well done!

Record weight this year for the Elliston Salmon comp.weighing in (gutted) at 6.1kg caught from taliaI only kept 4 fish this day that's all I could be bothered carrying up the stairs.Was like a kid in a candy store casting lures at the school released at least over 40 fish this day

Mine has to be surf fishing for salmon. OOOHHHHH so much fun when they jump out of the water trying to shake the hooks and using the waves to their advantage trying to get away.Followed closely by flathead on soft plastics. Nothing better than walking around in the water exploring the sand holes and getting slammed by a nice lizard!

Aussie Salmon. So many ways o fish for them, so many different fights they can give.You can make the fishing as frantic or as laid back as you like. High speed poppers, Metals, Soft Plastics and Baits all work.

Finally cracked the 10LB mark for my best salmon!!actually went 5.2kg or 11.7lb!First :c cast down at locks well on sunset!! with a duel adagio engulfed down its throat!So :c :c :c HAPPY!!!Not the heaviest in the salmon comp so far but easily my biggest salmon out of the surf!Have got a fishing log app on my phone and I always keep a tally of the fish I have caught no matter what size and where I caught themLines tight!
