catch fillet release reacted to jimbojames in Mully comp West lakes MTSA
Would like to say a massive thank you to Strike and Hook supporting the first one down the Onk and now i would like to present the second one down at West lakes .
Any one can join in as it is a friendly get together supporting a fundraiser for Mulloway Taggers SA . A $10 donation entry fee will get you in the action with about half of this going into a prize pool for 1st 2nd and 3rd . If there is no Mulloway caught then it will go down to the biggest Bream . You can register before 2pm but id tags will be handed out at 2 . Also doesn't matter what time you get down there after the fishing gets under way as long as you register you can start at what ever time until 9pm . Come down and support a good cause and just have a fun day out . BBQ will be cooking so food and drinks will be available for a few dollars . Hope to see you there .

Wow thanks b2f and a big thanks to the sponsors for the prizes. Bloody brilliant !!!
And C.F.R., i wont let my guard down next year, it was one particular tip that stuffed me up. I tipped North Melbourne to beat the Crows, then at the very last minute, i changed that tip, which i dont usually do. North Melbourne won and i was down a point on where i should have been.
Moral of the story, stick to your guns ( tips ) It was good fun this year, always looking over my shoulder. Well done on pipping me.
And what happened to snapperhead the crow supporting mug ?? Did he win the tipping spoon
Once again, thanks Strike Hook and sponsors.

catch fillet release reacted to jackblack86 in Carpet? or No Carpet?
Someone said something about artificial turf??? At Adelaide Uni Hockey club (west beach) they replaced their artificial turf and in the carpark sits, literally tonnes of artificial turf from the removed pitch. Just roll down there and grab some, pretty sure its just waiting to be dumped/taken. If need be I can ask just to make sure. I'll see if I can take a photo tomorrow.

catch fillet release reacted to rotare in Carpet? or No Carpet?
I'm another carpet guy. So much nicer under foot especially in summer when the floor can get really hot, and without carpet a bare fibreglass floor can get pretty slippery when a bit of water gets on it as well as bait and fish guts. Carpet also helps reduce Eskies and tackle boxes sliding while underway too..And so far as it being hard to clean and smelly..... I'm not sure what you guys are doing! I've never had that issue, even after having multiple tuna bled on the carpet, lots of squid cleaned on the carpet and the usual bait and burley mashed and trodden into the carpet all day long. I think one of the keys to help in keeping it clean is washing it down with a bucket of water or the deck wash during the day and keeping the ink, blood and guts moist, then back at home chucking some soapy water on it and blasting it with the hose. Any tough stains can be scrubbed out using a stiff brush and warm soapy water. So long as the boat is stored in a dry place with the jockey wheel wound out so the bow is up high, within a day or two the water drains off the carpet and out the boat and the carpet is back to new again...... well at least that's how I do it
