I haven't been out the end of the breakwater at St Kilda for over 2 months, been targeting the breambos at the other end instead.Will be hitting up the stones at Outer Harbour over the weekend, so will throw out a few blades and vibes and see what jumps on.Hopefully this winter brings a good salmon season with it, last year was a bit average.

Love your work mate.That 40cm bream is just a cast away.Just make sure you tie good knots coz its gonna know every trick in the book and pull harder than a freight train.And I hope you enjoy every minute of the fight, coz 40+ breambos really get me grinning.What bait are you using, I still swear by fresh live bloodworms, they catch me more bream than any other bait.I just wish I could crack 44cm, been stuck on 43 for more than 12 months. By the way, really love the catch and release,

Try fishing off the stones at Snowdens Marina entrance.Use bloodworms for bait, or Z-Man grubs rigged lightly in motor oil colour to target some nice mid 30s bream.Outer Harbour has also been firing with good bream and snapper, though you will need to walk at least halfway along the rocks to find a honey hole that hasn't been over-fished.Fishermans Wharf at Nth Arm is also a good spot at certain times, as is the area under the new road and rail bridges.Focus on fishing structure for the best results.Other than that, going for a walk and flick of the SPs in West Lakes might be worth a try.

Really enjoy reading Fishing SA, easily the best fishing mag in the state.Appreciate the effort that the folks put into making it, and you know it's a great magazine, coz they don't need to include a free lure with it to sell more copies.

Little Z-man grubs in motor oil have worked for me in the Port.If you ever get the chance to dig for live bloodworms, they are covered in a slime that scents any SPs nicely.Beats any artificial scent by a long mile.

Absolutely loving this thread.Reminds me of the time we chased a school up and down the beach near Suicide Point just over a year ago.All we had to do was cast out, catch a fish, cast out, catch a fish etc.Only kept 10 between us out of over 50 caught.Wasn't anything over 4kg though, just heaps of salmon.And good timing.

Have heard on another fishing forum that the Murray Mouth and Goolwa Beach have been getting a few Mulloway caught, though nothing very big so far.If you see any seals, do a Steve Irwin and jump on and hold tight, it's a lot of fun!...LOLNo seriously, give them a big hug for me and point them at the pros, they have been raping the Coorong for years and deserve the curry the seals are giving them.

Not wrong there, most of the lower end Shimano stuff just doesn't know when to quit.IXs. Sedonas, Siennas, Exages, etc, you don't need to blow your budget to get long life reels.I've got a crush on Siennas at the moment, very dependable reels, and less than $50And available in rear drag, if that floats your boat, which in my case it does.Just don't go swimming with them......

Bar of soap works a treat for shrimp.I don't know exactly why, but for some reason it attracts shrimp, as well as yabbies.I have been using soap for over 30 years to catch my shrimp, and I guarantee it works.Best soap is the Velvet brand soap.And those collapsible shrimp nets work just as well, though when I used to have one it kept getting snagged up and ripping, especially when dropped in amongst snags.

Use the Rays Outdoors nets for the yabbies, using either meat or dried dog food to attract the yabbies.If Rays don't have shrimp pots, try your local tackle store. Shrimp pots are usually wire or solid plastic construction and are smaller than yabby nets.Use soap in the shrimp pots to attract the shrimp.You should be able to get a decent shrimp pot for less than $15You will still catch shrimp in the yabby nets, but most will fall through the holes.Check the regulations, but I usually use 2 yabby nets and 2 shrimp pots with 2 fishing rods per person when fishing up the River.Hope this helps,Ste
