Hi mate I havent been myself for ages, I havent done much fishing of late but I hoping this will change soon. If you feel like a whiting fish or something like that then let me know and we can do that. I am not currently working so Im free most days. Ive got a new boat and it needs to be used lol. I was thinking about going out tomorrow as the conditions seem about as good as they will be for a few days. I have been given some good marks out from Pt Hughes Im keen to try but I think I might just go out from St Kilda and head up north a bit if you want you are welcome to come along Im thinking about going after lunch to fish the incoming tide.

      cheers

      Andy

  3. Take your blade and sand to get rid of any surface rust wire brush etc, heat blade over an oven burner will do , only till it is warm ,type hot, but just till steel darkens , as to much temperature will take the temper out of the steel, then dip in linseed oil .........commonly used for preserving old blacksmithing tools ....no rust .
  4. Nice catch at Wirrina  matey ,love the place better fishing there , I only go for the Snapper there ,and have had good times , sad ones aswell lol .....there is some massive squid down that way , but have never got onto the whiting , have tried lots in front of the pines , but reckon in the pine area it would fire for the gar .....was thinking of wading in the shallows for gar , I have a go to spot for the snapps ,if you ever want to team up , only 3 km out , I have a 17.6 king craft and yammy 115 , with lights for night fish if keen give me a pm .... as I only fish through the week ...........retired hurt .....but can fish lol

  14. I agree PP , the bream are a great fish to eat ,a lot of people don't like them ,but I used to catch and keep bream to eat ,and they turn out YUMMO . I am a bit funny about keeping them now , as for one ,I now know how old a decent fish is ,and they are not around like they used to be years ago , but a great fish to catch .

  19. Hi matey , Will have to catch up one day as you are not far from me and a mad fisho aswell I have not fished off of the beach , or rocks , but in the boat not far out lots of tommies and garfish . There are squid there but I haven't caught any , but a mate has done well there . I reckon the last hour of a falling tide would give you access , to fish further out , and give you a widow of 2 to 3 hours of fishing . There is some really nice sand holes in close , and I reckon Whiting would hold there ,
  20. It should be great , and there is nothing like Spanish mackerel on the BBQ , love the stuff... hope it works out fine matey
