  1. Not really because the rod acts to absorb the shock of a hard strike.
  2. Yep i have my drag set tight also... Just stand back and wait for the rod to load up then grab it.
  3. Headed down to Salt Creek with Tassie and his Missus Saturday morning, the weather wasn't to bad... 1 undersized mully was caught by Tassie and he deserved it as he put a lot of effort in over the afternoon/night. Always good to get out of Adelaide and go camping but driving all the way for nothing pretty much.. should just take the boat out local.. or go 4x4ing instead!

I have a 650c on an old school 13ft rod... will be getting a run at Salt Creek this weekend... will also be taking a 12ft spin combo just incase i crack the sads with the Alvey again...
  5. I was down at Little Dip on the long weekend and the beach is destroyed from storms, The Ranger had just closed the beach as we rolled in Said we can drive it if we want but to make sure we check it out properly first, didn't end up doing it. There was already a couple of cars swallowed by the surf at that stage.
  6. I'll just be happy to get out and chase some snapper. Kicking Summer off at Arno Bay, heading out with Ash in December!
  7. Just come across these pics on one of my 4x4 forums and thought it was a pretty cool set up.

  9. Comes down to water clarity i reckon.

  12. Never had the chance to go and target mully's before... So it's snapper for me, only because chasing them is normally action packed when you find them. Not that i remember what fishing is anymore lol
  13. Got a pic of the area you want to fit it into?
  14. Having such a crap year this year
  15. TackleWorld Salisbury?
  16. Don't think there is any? well that i have heard of before....
  17. Near the grain silos on Moonta Rd.. there is a old concrete ramp there to stand on, also some old wooden steps that make a flat platform to stand on.
  18. My go to small rod is a Pfluger Supreme AST with a SOL2000 and bigger rod is a Catana 9ft with a Solstace 4000, I don't have any really expensive gear... what i have now does the job.
  19. I like metal slugs for the casting distance...Also i seen somewhere people using shiny bottle caps, they just fold them in half over a shaft of a long shank hook from memory, tho you would want the wind blowing over your shoulder...
