    Crabbing

Hi all,After some advice if I may, I have some friends that have never raked for crabs, and having done it only a couple of times myself, I am a bit of a novice. We have decided that we will give it a crack this weekend, I was hoping someone could tell me, is it a good time of year to be raking for crabs, do the beaches like Middle, Thompson, Parahm still fire like they used to (its been nearly 15 years since I have done this)Any help will be greatly received, and I will post a report on our adventure.ThanksDame

  9. Cracker topic Jack.I was looking back over my fishing diaries the other week for something unrelated and noticed the mullies seem to play better on the dodge, or maybe just coincidence   It may be the way to go I reckon, let us know what you end up doing and how you go, I might have to give my own theory a crack, I will let you know.Dame
  10. Hey I agree Nanman, release it, I was more impressed at the control of catching a fish over 40 times the breaking strain. I for one have offen shot to early on smaller fish with bigger breaking strains, I posted not so much for a C&R v Kill debate as being impressed with the angler, even if you follow it with a boat, still a great angling effort.Dame
  11. Hi all,Not sure if you have seen this article, but that would take a great amount of control.http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/more-news/now-thats-what-i-call-a-shark/story-fn7x8me2-1226114439198Dame

  14. Dunlop Vollies are the way to go, when we fished the rocks and ledges in NSW everyone wore them. Cheap and plenty of grip.Dame

  19. Great job Benny, We fished the lake on Saturday night, live baits for the one run, no fish landed.Once again good job mate.Damien
  20. bluey68 wrote: Hey Bluey,I have heard of a couple of mulloway caught in Port with tags in them, I know the bloke collected all the info, and forwarded it on, I will try and find out, but I reckon it was a NSW based tag aswell. My understanding is that the tags are distributed Oz wide via NSW fisheries, I will happily be corrected if wrong, so my understanding is they are local caught fish, and tagged by local fisherman with the tags supplied from interstate.Damien
