There was a special via the Columbia online store and I was able to buy the Tamiami fishing shirts for $29.85 & free shipping. So I grabbed 2 for $59.70.
Got the shirt I wanted at heavily discounted price!

I have an Emeraldas LT 2500 which is supposed to hold 200m of PE 0.8. I have Platypus P8 10lb which is meant to be equivalent to PE 0.8 and I only fit about 100m. Initially it didn't bother me, but I've noticed on long casts I get a lot of drag on the line when the tide is running strong.
I've just bought some Diawa Emeraldas Durasensor PE 0.8 and it is noticeably thinner. I have no doubt I'll fit the full 200m.

That seems like a significant under estimate on their behalf. Is it possible it is a case of incorrect spool labelling? Eg. It's not actually their 20lb, it's something like 30lb?

Just to be clear, the flash boost reflector is inside the jig and is on fine springs so wiggles for ages after any movement of the jig.

Holographic tape under the cloth is nothing new, I've got some like that over 20 years old, agree on their day it seems to make all of the difference, sometimes it doesn't, squid can be funny like that.
I've had good results with a bit of SP scent on the jag, seems quite effective. Squid really aren't that tricky most of the time though quality jags sometimes make the difference and you can rely on them being up for the job and to work properly.
Still reckon a Tommie teaser will outfish anything though.

I was mainly a crumbed and fried man for many years and still go that way often (Probably due to my tartare and seafood sauce addiction), whiting, snapper, gar squid & sometimes tommies with crabs for mum was the go, occasionally baked snapper, but over the years I've branched out into all sorts.
Crabs, crays, squid various fish and even some purely to me bait stuff like cockles, baitfish (I catch the odd pilchard, surprisingly delicious) scallops, and mussels because my missus likes them.... pretty much everything is on the menu these days.
Curries of various types, pizza, pastas, sashimi (often), grilled, baked, fried various ways, it turns out seafood is delicious almost everyway if you look after it with a few exceptions.
So yeah my favourite for years was crumbed as a vehicle for sauce but now I would say my favourite way to do seafood is probably to experiment and try new things, so variety is what I like.

    Depends.
Tommies and garfish I sprinkle salt and pepper, then dust in flour, before frying quickly in a lightly oiled fry pan.
YFW I like to crumb in panko crumbs before shallow frying.
Crab, I like to make serve with spaghetti.
I also like to make tommies into fish cakes.
In summer, when I catch most of my fish, I have loads of home grown tomatoes, cucumber, basil, chillies etc. for the salads. I get a lot of satisfaction from serving a meal that is mainly made from what I've grown and caught.

Obviously bleed and get straight on ice when you catch one.
Knock the fillets off ribs and all no need to scale, then cut the ribs away completely, like straight down pin bones and all, that part is just packed with bones, good berley though, or crab bait but not worth even trying to save to eat in fact it can mess with the next bit.
The fillet you have left will be almost diamond shaped, skin from the tail end, start it with the knife but once started you should be able to just pull the skin off, it will also pull away any pin bones you missed making a mess if you tried to get greedy and "save" the rib section at 45cm minimum it's a big fish, accept the small loss as part of nature's design.
You should have a perfect fillet. Do not wash under water! At no stage do you want the meat to get wet Most fillets are better to some extent without getting wet, even with seawater but snook more than most I've found can really just go to crap, just clean off any bit of blood or scale with paper towel and lay out on paper towel if not eating immediately.
If you've done it right you'll have a perfect slab of delicious boneless, skinless flesh you can cut and cook anyway you like, with practice you'll be able to do it quicker than it takes to read this post.
Might do a video if I can get out again sometime soonish and remember to do it.

This is a sign the world has gone mad if anything is.
Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy the old snook, both catching and, when fresh, on the chew (just accept you're losing the entire rib section then skin for A grade fillets, mmmmm), but $20kg for whole fish would be near on $40kg for fillets which is crazy talk.
Tommies, mullet, bloody STs(!) etc are a similar sort of price & don't even start me on the real crazy stuff like cockles and pillies. This is bait people! Not $20 per kg food!
No-one on here actually buys seafood of course so I guess what I'm getting at is, now more than ever, YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO NOT GO FISHING! So let your bosses/missuses/etc know how things are and get out there when you can and start saving a fortune!

I agree, with a few exceptions most fish are absolutely delicious if treated right and prepared correctly, I agree that people who won't eat certain fish have likely just.not had them prepared correctly and finally I also rate fresh snook up there with anything.
But most importantly in my message GO FISHING!  There's never been more justification and it's good for the soul.

Tackleworld Adelaide have another 20% off atm, obviously to match SFS. I'd happily buy from SFS but *every* rod I was interested in was out of stock even before the sale.
    Anyway, enough head scratching, time to buy, and the winner was;
    21 TIERRA 702LXS Light 2-10g 7'0"/213cm 1.5-3kg 2 section ,Extra Fast taper, ~90g
Wasn't actually on my list, but the same grip as the Infeet won me over everything else I handled. I also liked the extra fast taper, more backbone than the Infeet but pretty much the same tip from the last 2 guides. Somehow 20% off $179 came to $119, could not say no.
BTW, had another look at the Crucis Tempest VXS (not solid tip), and I was very tempted.
Heaps of great light action rods these days, damned hard to choose even when price is not an important consideration. What I have come to be more aware of is grip shape means a hell of a lot to how much I enjoy a rod. It's the difference between feeling like you're holding the rod vs. it being an extension of your hand/arm.

100% agree mate. Fresh, bled and skinned snook with the bloodline removed are spot on for eating. On the bbq for a couple of minutes and wacked on fresh buttered bread with salt & pepper or a dash of sweet chilli sauce. Bliss😊

Snook have been one of my favourite fish to eat and catch for as long as i can remember. They are second to none as  smoked and as far as freezing them they need to be cleaned and skinned but before you crumb or batter them when defrosted squeeze a little lemon juice on them and season with salt and pepper.I will challenge anyone to pick the difference.Treat any fish you catch with respect ,ice slurry and clean and fillet as soon as possible and even salmon trout are a delicacy.I know so many people who say they wont eat this or that but after i have cooked them a feed they soon change their minds.

Saw whole Gar at $50 p/kg the other day, so maybe around $60-70 p/kg fillets.

Haha Thanks mate - Yeah the one that's self cocking, had 3 split shot embedded into the glue end cap as it dried. I like the idea of self cocking floats.  Less chance for tangles. And I looooove the way an unweighted bait  drifts slowly to the bottom in still or lightly flowing water. They can also be jerked back to the surface so they slowly fall again which Ive found is good for triggering hits. So they suit my style

With the end plugs and a pair of scissors, I can change the buoyancy by cutting the straw a bit shorter - or the more traditional way of adding split shot to the line.

So your suggestion of end caps make them a much more versatile float👍
