  1. How do you enter your user name??? I got over 30,000 before but it never comes up with a screen to enter my name for the high score..... The time runs out then it just stops....
  2. Unless you are very picky, or its an expensive rod I'd recommend just doing it yourself... I buy the packs from big W and I'm the least creative person on the earth (I'm an accountant, lol!!) and I can do it.I got some hot glue at one stage, and all I do is light a match to melt the existing glue, pop the old one off and either using hot glue, or super glue, put a bit on the inside of the new guide and slide it on.... Never had an issue.. I've done it on everything from 1-2kg flick sticks, to a 10kg overhead surf and a 10kg overhead Cod rod....
  3. I agree, the bag limit is extremely generous....Wouldn't say the stocks are stuffed..... From all reports they were thicker than ever this summer..
  4. Why would that be??
  5. When I first used to go we just used a prawning light that I had from my Coorong floundering days and it worked okay, but I found that the beam wasn't very wide so could only really be used on one side of the boat or by one person - which was okay with two of us in the boat as one drove and held the light while the other dabbed....But I now have spotlights permanently mounted on the front of the tinny which do a much better job as it means the driver doesn't have to hold a light - and they can be easily turned up to look out for obstacles...Which is another tip - ALWAYS SUSS OUT YOUR SPOT IN D
  6. One of those prawning lights is fine.... I think it's better for the light to be able to go underwater if you can, but not 100% necessary...Go out on a new moon night or very overcast (i.e. as little moon as possible) as the Gar will be higher in the water coloumn...And when netting them - make sure you go deeper than you think as the perception going under water is difficult - they are deeper than they look - get into the practice of trying to net them in the top part of the net rather than the middle otherwise you will miss them...And most of the time they are like stunned rabbits in headlig
  7. Thats awesome..... nice live bait... for a whiting or something...
  8. I would put Mulloway at 50lb...Agree with 20lb Snapper....Yeah 1m+ Murray Cod...They were the three targets I've had since I was 8 years old... Pretty happy to say ticked the last one off just after Xmas with Arno Bay Fishing Adventures...Next targets - thinking Kingfish of 50lb.....
  9. I got a box of them for Xmas... Haven't really used them apart from in the Coorong the other week - good for running rigs and when lighter than usual sinkers are required...
  10. Have seen a few caught on charters fishing for Snapper...
  11. WOuld think you would be a chance of some squid....
  12. I would say a wives tail....Not sure whether it would be any good.... have seen a just legal rugger used as a live bait! Unsucessfully though!
  13. Awesome effort to get a legal KG from Brighton Jetty!!
  14. Good to see.... Would be good to see you keep this updated so we can follow your progress!
  15. I've had as similar issue but it was just the spark plug cover coming off... I'm not motor mechanic (far from it - i'm an accountant) so it's probably not even close to your problem!
  16. Yep, everything bar the arse end looks like southern calamari and I would say at the end of its life...Have seen Arrow/Torpedo squid and they have much smaller flaps and only at the back end.... The head also looks a lot different....
  17. This Spaghetti with tomato and calamari is one my favourites - http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/7805/spaghetti+with+tomato+and+calamari - might do it for tea tomorrow night I reckon....YUM!!Failing that - I think just on the BBQ, no coatings - stuff the S&P, stuff the flour - iI love it on the BBQ just cooked - dip it in a bit of tartare sauce and your done....
  18. Can be hard to tell at times... but the yellow gives it away - both on the tail, the pectoral fin, and the spots are more defined along the side.... A tommy also had a much bigger eye than the ST...
  19. Yeah thanks Big Ash, was an awesome day out!Have got a few photos from the day too which I will put up when I get home at the end of the week.
  20. Sorry Rick only just saw this!!Look forward to meeting you mate!!!
  21. I wouldn't think so... but i guess if its mashed up with everything else I couldn't see why not...I remember someone saying shouldn't use snapper for crab bait...
  22. Love the Snyder Glas rods.... Great pick up!!Depends on what you are doing in the surf..... I think for luring overheads would definitely give you better control....I used to have an overhead for surf fishing but it used to give me the gripes so I no longer use it and just stick to big threadlines....
  23. Caught thousands of tommies on a lure exactly like that.... They love them!Anything that feeds on small whitebait, etc. would be keen on muching it!
  24. Great read here guys.... Good to see this argument being played out with nothing personal being involved.I've caught sharks before but I wouldn't consider myself a shark fisho.I can see both sides of this argument - I can see where emufingers is coming from but I don't necessarily agree with him - yes it seems simple to just tell people to fish elsewhere, but if people wanted to fish from the beach they would fish from the beach. You are making it sound like they are fishing from the jetty to purposely piss you and the other locals off... A jetty is a much cleaner and more comfortable place to
  25. Yes you can just rock up and dig a hole - on the waters edge is the place to be..... Make sure they are over the size limit and don't take more than your 300...Be plenty left - they run right through summer....
