Hi milmo thanks for that what sort of rigs/bait do you use?
Hi Langley, i normally use standard paternoster rig and cockle for bait. Caught a few tommies yesterday.

I might go there this evening chasing tommies and mullet.

That video not mind. I find it interesting so i thought i share it here. I learn't something from this video. Normally when i fish for squid, most of the time i just reel my jag to let it it swim. Sometime i can feel like "tap...tap.." but never thought the squid actually attacking the jag until i saw this video.Cool vid Milmo! They really are cool creatures.

Many recent reports have been gar from O/H breakwall. Can't imagine a fish to get a better or more consistent feed of than gar' date=' replaced with ST's in the winter.[/quote']Yes it does seem to be a good place to fish' date=' but I think you have to go a reasonable distance out along the rocks which is not attractive to me.[/quote']Not really. You can catch gar on that blue arrow. Very short distance. If you come during high tide and stay for 2 or 3 hours... the walking distance to the shore become more shorter because the tides running out. You can walk on the beach instead off the rocks."To catch a good feed of fish, you need to put much effort on it"

@Kayak Noob - That St's size range from 25 -28cm.@Bent87 - That the first one for this year. Was there last weekend and only caught 8.

I was using bait (pilchard) with running singker rig. Go there as early as you can and straight down to the end. Many people there during the weekend.
Did you use lures? Were there many people out?Bag out at St Kilda this morning. The fish starting to bite really well.

I took this photo from the South Port cam. Not very good quality but just want to share the view. I never see the water that rough before. Anyone ever fishing in that condition? What can we expect...or better stay away?

Fishing the St kilda channel this morning for about two hours. Plenty of bream but most of it undersize. Trumpeter almost every cast. Caught a few Tommy. What funny this morning was i thought i caught the boat that went pass but actually something big pulling my line. Went i almost saw the fish it spit the hook . But it was fun :cheer: .

I wonder if this camera on the right position. Feels like a bit too far from the car park and the playground.

I was there (sugar) for about 2 hours this morning but nothing big..all undersize. Not a touch on my livies.

After a few days sitting at home with cold and flu, i finally got out today. With still not 100% of my normal strength, i went to Outer Harbour about 11am for a quick fish. A week without fishing feels like a month so i forced myself to get into action. After about an hour fishing, i was served with two rays and managed to land one. The first one got busted. First time ever, i won the fight with a ray. Cut the line and let it swim. After the fight, i was really exhausted and decided to go home. Manage to catch three blueys so the trip not really stuff all :cheer: .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggoUMITPXRE

Might try to use burley there next timeHey Milmo was nice to meet another S&H member out fishing. Looked like you were using sum nice looking fishing gear. Only problem when fishing the same location as piratepom you have to right next to him when he puts the secret berley in the water because the fish come from miles around for a taste. lol

Nice photos Milmo. I was on those rocks on Sunday with Vxman' date=' but a bit further up. We pulled a couple of Blueys up on the rods too. Got a few fish out of the channel side but nothing special. [/quote']I was there too that morning and both of you went pass me and say "good luck" to me..hehe. I think Vxman came a bit later. Was that you with the red shirt?

That a real bad experience with Razor. But i think should be ok to use as a bait especially now is whiting season. There are plenty of them in the metro area but I wouldn't advise eating razors from the metro area infact i'd warn you against it.They are filter feeders and the runoff metro is just too toxic to take the chance....this a can vouch for first hand after eating some a few years back i was sick for 6 weeks and had all the symptoms of heavy metal poisoning. cheers brenton

Is it allowed to take the razor fish in metro area? Saw a group of razor today while am fishing in the shallow. I thought the shell empty but it actually alive.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqdvY8h1-3M
