I remember when I found my first ever school of salmon like that, all 40-46cm and far out! They went hard and smashed every lure that hit the surface in the blink of an eye.Well done mate, it is one of those things in fishing witch is pure FUN!

search for The Patagonian Toothfish On youtube, and IFish on Tv. I can never seem to catch adventure bound and Et is all ads. Writing this I just saw 30 seconds of fishing then straight to a commercial for Can Ams. I would love to find a show where there is a group of presenters that like stuff around a bit and take the micky. I remember lee on I fish, Two opinions are always better than 1.

Theres good reasons why light high end quality rods have cork grips, the main one being much greater feedback through the rod as EVA acts like a big sponge that reduces feel, fine for snapper and the like but for small finiky species and light tackle Eva is not great!

Thank god, such an iconic colour can't be lost so easily.Fussy fish love the original bloodworm

What I mean by melting is that Z-mans if stored with another plastic have some kind chemical reation causing them to melt the other one and itself. I had a double tail plastic in my pocket tacklebox, after fishing a Z-man for no interest I chopped it off and dropped it in the wrong slot. 2 Days later went back down and opened the tacklebox to find an Molten mess! One part of the tail was sticking out of another innocent plastic and there was just this squelchy core of goo left on the jig head.I think it is only the Z-man material that does this. Read the back of the pack

Many places still sell the older squidgys if it is a problem. If they are infact Z-man they will melt with other soft plastics. The thing that annoys me most is that the bloodworm colour has changed so drastically!

Mine would have to be the 49cm silver I got in a local dam.On my (then) faourite comobo I had fished for 2 hours with lures and not had a sniff. Then I saw a dead yabby in the shallows, picked it up and pulled the head off.I put the head on a #2 hook about 30cm below a little clip on float. Cast out and made a little rod holder out of rocks. That came off after 10 minutes so I went back and put the tail on.Litterally took two steps away from the holder when WHACK something smashed it. :woohoo: The 8 pound was going through the guides in short determined bursts, then it swam towards me then all of a sudden ripped back! Breaking the 3000 jarvis walkers in gear/out of gear system at the same time! Now to say the fighthad changed would be an understatment, reeling backward when it really went and retrievng line when it angled. It was really hard determining wheather it was pulling to hard or not. That fish was one of only two I have ever had to chase up the bank to land, man it thought hard for it's size and scared the bejeasous out of me.

^^ Exactly, we now just need some company to invent a 100 (A tenth of the size of a 1000) reel and some 200g line to spool it with. Then a really light rod and bingo a mega tommie could set you back 5 or 6 minutes to land. :woohoo:

Slimies are hit and miss but it is around this time that enter the gulf and inhabit most of the usual snapper drops, wrecks and areas. For some reason they have a death wish and live with their main predator.

The Kimberleys are actually the worst place to fish. If you have a ticket hand it over to me and I will deal with it. ;)My advice, if you do go to that horrible place is to have an absolute ball! Keep it laid back and don't get to caught up in catching everything possible.

I took a gamble on a 2000 pelagic real.10 "S/S" (presuming super smooth) ball bearings, 5:1 gear ratio, holds about 120m of 8lb mono. It really SUCKS at throwing something under 1/8th of an ounce but for heavier lures it's surprisingly nice. It is a good reel to pop on a 9ft rod and walk a beach throwing lures for small salmon and snook. It would make an good reel for bait fishing but after having a fiddle with the drag it looks like if you put 2kg or more on anything that can pull hard it would just pop the wires that hold the disk.Really it compares to alot of jarvis walkers, just a little smoother and the drag isn't wuite as good. I have kind of labeled it redfin, mullet, St's, carp and tommies/gar.

Just today I was fishing The lower Finesse (where it meets the murray) sixth cast along a reed line and BANG a huge callop walloped my lure! From catching them in dam's quite a bit I could tell it would probably go into the low-mid 50's.It took it about 10cm below the surface, didn't know it was hooked until it broke the water. Then in one massive woosh of it's tail it popped the blood Knot :s :pinch: :c  :angry:It would have been my first lure caught callop out of a river, that happened at around 2 and I am still feeling the insignifigant little pop in the line.I got 4 solid 1-2.5kg carp on my light little outfit in that hour, all on corn. It was ok just for an hour sesh, but :c that knot!

I would use a sinker over a float, unless someone has berleyed up gar and tommies then a pencil float would be the go.

A monster! I do agree with Cal though, the same goes for carp. They are basically farmed the amount of berley (Ground bait)put in their. Almost like fishing a hatchery pond.

Off the beach is ok for tommies, flathead, small salmon etc. Nothing really special though, some stingrays off the jetty area i think? Very easy fishing along that beach.
