  1. No doubt my favourite salmon lure is whatever is cheapest at Big W/Kmartaround a 40g size, or 10-15 with the bream gear
  2. I reckon I dropped $180 on tailered hornes waders 2 years or so ago. It was something along those lines - wouldn't think you'd be up for much more??
  3. Take one out and another will take it's place' date=' [b']trout are stocked in 'put and take' fisheries so eat all you want Yakmondo[/b] don't listen to the guys who cry while cleaning fish Thats their issue not yours. Fillet them up and roll in flour , egg and breadcrumb and shallow fry in butter Really? Can't think of too many southern creeks, where this fish was caught, that are actively stocked and on public land.Regardless - Yakmando has already made it obvious he will enjoy these fish responsibly
  4. You mentioned in the freshwater section you're keen to head back to catch some more... Won't add up to many more trips for you or anyone else if you keep eating them
  5. Surely have a pic floating around?
  6. Might be waiting another 40 years :cheer:
  7. What do you reckon each of these flies is worth in materials alone?Sure do look awesome regardless :woohoo:
  8. Tried Big W - both collanades + marion. Might have to track these decoys down fellas - have to be better then retying knots every lure change! Cheers
  9. Aye - did put on my nicest smile, but apparently they have stopped making them. What do your decoy ones set you back? Any clues to a source?Cheers mate
  10. Yep, they do - just not in the smallest size and only stock them in chrome!
  11. Hi all,Always been a fan of the Force 10 snaps - they were tiny and painted black - didn't effect lure action and fish didn't seem to mind either Apparently they've stopped making the smallest size, and even the black colour? I've seen some around the traps - but these are often worth way more than I was used to paying from Big W or Kmart  Any thoughts to where I could pick something up in the southern area?
  12. Sorry Sambo - but would've almost loved you to lose it to see the reaction on camera Great fish
  13. Relatively cheap and never had am issue with Umpqua below 6lb for the fly gear. Otherwise vanish, or Jinkai for heavy stuff.
  14. Picked up a decent outfit from Tacklebusters last week, caught good fish on it already, handled them well and can fling a bait out!Worth checking out at least if money is an issue
  15. May have to seperate the disruptive kids tho - does your place have a suitable time out corner?
  16. I may well be keen Darren, what kind of cost would be associated?
  17. anyone tried the squid ink pastas popular in other parts of the world?Saw it on a cooking show this week... Looks horrible!
  18. Great looking stream - how big do they get around there?
  19. also - today around the reef at a beach I was running a siv/net through the weed - particularly the undercut sections of reef. Heaps of shrimp - this could be worth trying depending where you are.
  20. holes in the sand can often turn out to be a useless variety of wormTheres sometimes darker coloured sand around the hole, and it will often be spurting out sand as a wave recedes. Put a kids bike tyre around a siv so it floats - then pump what you get up into it to seperate the nipper. Sure is frustrating without one
  21. no need to go to tassie straight away :laugh:Large stretche of the Broughton in Spalding are available to fish for a $10 fee - I can PM you the landowner's number if you like. This is stocked by SAFFA and consists of large, deep pools. While its a challenge, there are great fish to be had. The torrens and other 'larger' SA rivers aren't hard for a newbie to cast on. Waders sure do help in the tight creeks - you only need a leader and a few feet of line - not long casts at all. These creeks often only hold quite small fish - see my recent post in freshwater - but stalking even a small trout and
