  4. Went fishing with the old man once and we weren't sure if we'd go for carp or down the road for bream. We ended up going for bream and dad thought he'd use corn, I thought he was crazy but he scored a decent bream. Turns out bream will go for that kinda thing if they're hungry enough so not all that weird. I might suggest that he tries pitted olives next time

  6. Went out yesterday with a mate and his Mrs to try and hit up a salmon school locally. Well only a few slightly larger specimens but not what we were after. My mate and I both tried surf poppers, these have been suggested to me a few times now and yesterday had reports of people dragging in untouched bait with the popper slaying the salmon. Not the case with us. The only thing landed on the poppers were an few st's when my mate put a pillie tail on it kinda defeats the purpose. I managed a sand crab, not sure if I foul hooked it on the retrieve but was hoping the popper would actually dete
  7. Friday, 16 May 2014 Seasonal closures to commercial Garfish fishing in South Australia will come into force at noon today, in a move to promote the recovery of Southern Garfish stocks. The closures have been developed in close co-operation with industry, and will see closures to all commercial Southern Garfish fishing in Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent during separate 40 day periods, between today and August 7.   12. I've always done well with just bits of bread as berley and gents on a small hook for bait. Sometimes I've used a float to keep the bait off the bottom, sometimes a bit of weight with a split shot. I use a slow retrieve if I don't get instant hits.

You don't necessarily have to post up a "fishing report" maybe you're doing a bit of work on your tub and have a few step by step photos or you're making your own lures.   21. Elliston The Elliston jetty has had good reports of the usual specimens found in the area such as tommies, garfish, and squid. Locks Well has had schools of salmon in the 2-3kg mark keeping anglers busy, with fish holding close to shore during periods, giving anglers the option of casting lures. A few flathead have also been reported being caught. Sheringa Try first beach for a few whiting, and the salmon beach has also had decent size salmon holding in the area.
