It proves what can be done with a little Government determination.
Obviously not everyone is happy but the majority are the winners. Perhaps our mob could take a leaf out of their book?
The compo packages seem generous enough, wouldn't have thought that to many pros were making big money in the area.
(not sure why the link isnt blue?)

as for Sa Bait Supplies , do they sell to the general public ? I thought they were just wholesale and sell to commercial operators or bait shops ?
If Spot-on doesn't work out they will know who stocks the boxes & if no one does they may be able help you out

depending on the size you use I have also used them in shallow water
the ones I bought are 75mm, do you have issues with them snagging in shallow water?

G'day all,
Just bought myself 3 double clutchs & am wondering if you would share your knowledge, tips & tricks on using them.
I've read a few reports, mickyj's in particular, as he seems to use them a lot & am looking on youtube for some tips.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers in advance.

Yeah maybe I'm throwing too heavy in the lake I throw between a 1/16 to 1/20.
You may be going too light. My go to is 1/8, it gets the plastic to the bottom quickly then I jerk it up through the water column then let it sink again, wind in the slack & repeat 100 times
I'll use 1/12 or 1/16 on calm days or if i'm in the yak.
13 hours ago, daninozz said:I think as well the biggest problem is the lakes are over fed, because of the residents feeding them constantly on a daily basis.
I don't think they can feed all of them, could they?
With plastics it's more about a reaction bite than a hungry one most times.
Keep experimenting & you'll find what works.
Congrats on that Bream
-
I haven't caught many Bream but all I've caught I've caught on plastics.
Gulp Nemesis, Jigging Shrimp, Turtle Back Worms & Sqiddgy Paddle tail Fish but not one on a Z-man Grub yet there are pics all over the Webs of Bream with them in their gobs.
I mix up the retrieve with each style till something works, not too helpful but that's all I got

This may be the key - weed, walls, pontoons etc etc.

Probably would be picking sea run fish from a beach or the coorong, as opposed to port river or onkaparinga fish...
I caught 7 on a Gulp jigging shrimp, between the foot bridge & the mouth of the Onk last winter, they were brilliant eating fresh.
They may have recently entered the Onk though.

Yellowfin Whiting Tips
in General Fishing
Posted
I will start by saying that i have never caught a metro YFW but.........................................
have caught a few at Pt Vincent
I generally catch & use the nippers same day but I guess if you keep em well they'll be ok.
So, low tide to collect then fish the run in tide almost straight away, running ball sinker, # 4 or # 6 long shank hook.
I walk back in with the tide until the bite stops.
I've seen folk @ Seacliff catching at both low & high tide, the tides aren't bad tomorrow so I'd try Seacliff around the low.
Hope this helps & let us know how you go
