If you are selling it .....What i’d do is put it on ebay for 7 days and watch it’s progress. If it looks like not much interest during the last day then remove it from sale and try elsewhere. An indication is having a look at the number of watchers on the item.A few weeks back i seen a wooden seamartin on there and expected to see it sell around $200 but it sold $870.Good chance the wooden alvey reel is worth something.

ausea got a reaction from AquaticResearch1 in new shark setup-your opinion?
My last bronzie was from a tinnie using a 4000 size egg beater average 6’ rod & 20Lb line.Shark was 5’ long had it in the boat within 10mins and that was playing it out a fair bit as i wasn’t set up for shark. So for the set ups you guys are talking about it must be a massive shark your chasing.

This may help in some info WaspyI have been using this Strikerline for over a year and it works as it's meant to,I have never had any issues from it.Just recently i got this 20Lb Power Pro super 8 line to try out20Lb Power Pro super 8 line thickness dia .23mm20Lb Strikerline thickness dia .18mmPicture shows the two brands but the Strikerline pictured is actually 30 Lb line which is .26mmSo for 300m for under $13 incl delivery it's not bad a deal and it is a thinner braid, remembering the line is probably made in the same factory as other well known brands.Pics taken with mobile..sorry for the quality..http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Spuer-Strong-Dyneema-Spectra-Braid-Fishing-Line-300M-327-Yard-20LB-Gray-/260949907848?pt=A

But not so much for rough bottom fishing shown in this video but in getting casting distance,if using a fish as bait it puts the fish behind the lead weight and streamlines it through the air.Plus the bait won't be swirling around as it's flying and reducing distance.Oh just noticed Plankton had explainedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUBIMcwsi2Q

If the balancing point is around the reel it helps when retrieving and twitching rod tip making the lure work.Having a rod front or rear heavy will make the rod awkward to work as the wrist will tire quickly.Still depends on what's being targeted to what easy to use

The only way a rod and reel can be balanced is by going into a tackle store and fitting reels to rods in finding the pivot point. As pic from 4THALOVEIf buying some gear online you won't know and only guessing it will balance. This exacting formula is usually for the bream guys where they're going to be hundreds of casts in a day.Yesterdays lure casting was on a silstar glass rod, last week was on a shimano graphite rod.All comes down to the weight of lures to what works best.

Reasoning would be a saving in materials for the manufacturer, gives the rod some character/appeal to the buyer. It's one part of the rod users don't handle in use or casting.

On some rods i've purchased there is no soft grips (split grips)With some rods i have removed them and only have cork tape. But i like it this way.

I've had no issues with "fake" power pro. If I could afford to I would buy local but I could buy 10 spools online compared to 1 in store here. I just make sure my knots are strong and use a decent leader.

Sedonas,Siennas,Exages,Hyperloop,Sweepfire,Crossfire,Cazna,Laguna,Opus,Crest,Sahara,Aird,Legalis and Symetre. These sorts of reels are classed as beginner reels, some are classed as kids reels. The Symetre only sells for $80 in the U.S. and they are just a beginners reel. When you get into real plastics throwing e.g. bream and other species you can stand in some places and cast for 3 hours during that time you may cast anywhere 400-700 times. The real difference between the cheaper reels and the better quality one's is how smooth and light the reels really feel and this is when the invested dollars come into play. You don't really get into decent reels until buying $300+ price range.Something like the new Ci4+,Sustain. Some people will know what i saying about the dollar investment and some won't.All depends on how much use the reel is going to get 400-700 or 30-50 casts.
