    FG knot for me too,

When fishin around razorfish beds, I need decent leader of around 70 lbs to 30 lb braid, never busted this knot,
In fact had to tie the braid to a cleat to break of the snagged hook.
Casts fine for me with an overhead reel

Tie the FG at home properly and it should last a three day or weekender.
when I'm finished a trip I come home and start again, retie it.
Nothing catches in the guides when casting and normally I don't have a problem with half hitches coming undone
as long as the last one I do I pass through loop 3 or 4 times.
If you get a bust off using this knot you haven't set your DRAG properly.......I've been spooled before cracking this knot  with the drag set above line rate.

Took me a while to master but I trust it so much now that I cant not use it ...Its just that gooda knot.

Cheers and happy birthday to all the Horses .

FG Knot worth learning ....absolutely awsome Knot .
I use it in the river and havent had one fail yet .And never had to use lighters or glue.
    Casts great .
This way I found Easiest ....there are a few different ways to tie it but this one I found quick and easy.

    silk,

Firstly you need to state what engine you have, if you want help finding an "authorised servicing agent"

Next, you probably won't like this one, BUT, you will need to take your engine to the dealer and PAY for a documented report, diagnosis / repairs, and if required photographic evidence.

You will not find a service agent that will repair your engine for free.........

Once you have all of this, and it is found that you are correct in your claim of shoddy work, then you have the required evidence to take it to the Small Claims Tribunal, or Today Tonight, to try and recover your previous costs, and for the costs of the repairs.

Hope that this helps out somewhat

Not a good story to read & going through an ordeal like that.

Firstly try Trihull's idea, if it doesn't work then.

I would suggest your girlfriend to take the boat to a marine shop that specializes in the brand of outboard she has. Have it repaired to her satisfaction with a report done on previous repairs that was carried out.
Then send a bill or claim back to the Alberton repairer. If this doen't work then

Put all the documents together & you may need legal assistance to write up a affidavit as a witness, then serve them with a summons to appear in the Minor Claims Court, this may jolt them into paying up before going to court also.

I know using just a Queens Counselor demanding payment works very well

Sorry about the low quality photos as Strikehook only allows images under 4.8mb so i had to drop the resolution right down to get them on here....

I will post a few more up when I have finished processing them....

Moggy23 reacted to projoe in Rods that are overhead and spin ?
As a general rule most rod blanks have a backbone & was more pronounced on older fibreglass jobs & a good rod builder would find the backbone & build the rod accordingly so if you had the backbone say 180 degrees out this would make the rod want to roll in your hands. I do recall some blanks when i was rod building having two backbones but i would chose the more aggresive one as the central spine to build the rod.
I must admit that back then i used to check any rod or blank i was about to purchase for a good backbone placement luckily i had access to suppliers ware houses & could go through & pick the best one out.
These days with better manufacturing processes the backbone issue is just about non existant so a rod could be made for spin or baitcast with out to much difficulty but your mates might laugh at you.

Here is a photo I took moments before i got hit with the front that came in this afternoon!

Love how there was such dark clouds rolling in yet you still see the sun as it was setting.

And shows the roughness of the water!

This looks even better at the true resolution however due to the site only allowing 4.88mb max pics i got to shrink it down to fit!

Sufix 832 does it for me, very smooth! Hasn't let me down yet

I also use tuffline, not too bad either, I'd rather the sufix 832 though

I use Suffix 832 for it's smoothness coming of reels & lays better on overhead reels.

Normally use a FG knot to fluorocarbon leaders or the polmar knot direct to terminal tackle.

    Give you a tip mate.
Dip them in metho when alive then put them in small containers and freeze straight away.
When you use them keep them in the shade and as cool as possible.
This method gives you firm and reliable worms for fussy bream, and they don't mind the metho one bit.
I tried salting them live, but they squirt the blood out, and end up mushy after being frozen.
Usually dig for them at low tides below .20m, and when used live, are one of the best baits out.
However during the bloodworm run, using them as bait will be useless, coz most of the fish that eat them will be fat and full.

I managed to get out yesty locally. Mainly drifted around squiding with one paternoster in the water in case I stumbled on a tinger patch.
Only got hook ups on throw backs, leatheries, weedies , red mullet, even a juvenile blue throat!
Ended up with a good feed of squid (2kg of clean edible goodness) n the biggest cuttlefish I've ever caught. The thing was a beast.

Had a really good time just me n my girl, for a 5 year old she is really getting into it and guess what show n tell will be this week?
My little whiting rock looked killer on the sounder, the blue blotches where hordes of pigmies tho.

Found em north last week, metro this week, n my mate found them on all his tinger drops down at wirrina!!

Have to speak the guys at the desal, c if they can run a backwash trial again, keep the population in check!
