  1. Adrian , there are some absolutely cracking shots of the SNOW , in and around your area ... Some of my family have NEVER seen SNOW ... Still .... looks very COLD ... SF
  2. Very good at making these videos. Would be interested on what set up you have, and what software you are using.... most video editing software is very CPU and RAM intensive ... Also, what is your source video from ? GoPro ? Really enjoy your videos .... SF
  3. Adrian, even your B/W photographic skills are amazing ..... Some of these pictures surely show clarity and depth better than a colour one would ! I think as Doobie said, that Snow covered Mountain, with the foreground fence in the water looks fantastic !! Time you put together a Coffee Table Book ... SF
  4. Adrian , that is a cracking good looking repair... If anything, I would hazard a guess, that, the repaired lure might run a little deeper, due to the extra angle on the new bib. Well done, for finding all the little bits to do such a repair. SF
  5. There was a dirt road the went down to the river at the far end of the SUB Base and Power plant, even had a round cul de sac at the end... Has that been closed off ? Haven't been down that way in a few years now ... There has been rumors that a level crossing will be put in on the main road, so the "NEW" subs can be railed across to the launching area. That Huge expanse of levelled dirt across from the Ship Yard is supposedly for the French Shed .... ? ? ? SF
  6. Fantastic Photography Adrian... Absolutely love the picture of the very timid and mostly rarely seen Aussie Mammal the Platypus !!!! SF
  7. Booma , very impressed with your test products. Must have watched those videos for hours on end. A nice shot of the ingenuity and get it done. Seems like you are halfway there now, all you need to do is rig up, bait up, and throw it into the surf. Best of luck, and keep at it ... trial and error, think out of the square, repeat, until it all comes together. Well Done SF
  8. Congratulations to the very deserving WINNER ... Adrian aka Meppstas Bet you are going to be able to sight fish with absolute accuracy when you start wearing those new SPOTTERS sunnies... The "Trout" need to look out from now on... Again, congratulations to Adrian. SF
  9. Definately ... "Coffee Table" Hardcover Book worthy .... !!! Love those pictures, so 'tranquil' looking SF
  10. Re - tip the one that has "just" lost the tip , as said , a dab of hot gun glue, and a tip to suit ... As for the other , you might be able to get away with repositioning the 2nd runner, and a new tip , but give that one to the experts ... Good luck SF
  11. Territory Lad , you can go either way, but normally, I go up 1 size, as trebles are normally smaller, being 3 hooks .... and the lure size too ... But, it is all trial and error ... see how you go ..... Hope that this was helpful information for you. SF
  12. For Territory Lad , as promised , here is a picture of 3 of the "small in-line hooks" I use to replace trebles on my small lures. You can see the Model Number on the top.. 329406 ...404 , so the bigger ones would be 329401 ... I have them from Size 1 down to size 12 ..... very good hooks .. haven't seen any other brands, so can't comment on them, other than these Gamakatsu's. And for those with a keen eye , yes, these packs are un-opened .. as the others are in small clip bags with only marker pen. So, hope this gets you sorted out, and perhaps some tackle sponsors
  13. I have managed to get some very small inline hooks, which I have put on my small HB's for whiting, Work a treat. I grabbed a few packs of them from size 1 down to size 10, all proper inline hooks. Will need to go and look at the brand, so you could see if some of the fishing gear sponsors can get them for you. I did buy these online, but was a local bloke, who actually hand delivered them to me...saved postage, as he was in the area. I think he is down south .. ?? Will get back to this for you. SF
  14. Fantastic photograph you have taken there on your "small fishing camera" Adrian. Love the Fog ... gives it the "Eerie look" !! SF
  15. Lanes Hunter Get yourself one of these, and wire it up under your bonnet near the battery... Blue Seas CCT Breaker Same style you get for electric anchor winches... Around $50 - $70 depending on where you buy it from Hope this helps SF
  16. Gate times used to be in the Advertiser , not sure where ... either tides or shipping info ... At an estimate , normally outlet opens at low tide times for Port River .. As for Open times .. I would guess High Tide ... Good Luck ... SF
  17. The trick to catching Silver Ghosts, especially in West Lakes, is not to find the deepest holes..... Fish the "narrowest" parts of the lakes, as mullies travel around , and the narrower parts, give you the best opportunity ... As they, have to swim past that area ... trial and error, to find best narrow bits, but this will help you out a great deal ..... SF
  18. Welcome to the "New Age" .... I guess this is the start and demise of the "Postie"... Drones for the future of home delivery of the "general mail and small packages" ... Here comes "SKY NET" ........ SF
  19. Poppa Snake, this guy is great ... I did go and check his other video's out ... Here is the link to all of his other videos ... RecFishCENTRAL SF
  20. If you are really interested, I follow this site from the USA every week....., they tag and track Great Whites... even some here in AUS.. !!!!!! They all have names, sizes and sex... Some of the travels will blow you away.... Great White Tracking Enjoy that... SaltyFlyer
  21. Very big book, might have to take on the weather and head to the bookshops. Hopefully , I can get it without drowning. SF
  22. Hold off and see if any of the larger tackle shops have a sale on. In the meantime, go around to as many as you can, look at what's on offer, have a play with them if they let you, ( if not, scratch them off the list). Write down some prices, also check the internet from other shops interstate, and places like dinga fishing... {https://www.dinga.com.au} I know that there are a few local shops that will match, if not beat some prices. Just comes down to doing the homework/leg work SF
  23. Cheers keenfisho, will certainly be interested in that, thanks for posting the arrival of your package(s). They do look great when all shiny and new......... SF
  24. Is she still there... maybe a quick bulk order from the patrons here? Curious, what was the price over there, compared to here, especially with the Aussie Oxford value to the Jap Yen? Certainly would be interested, and does not hurt to ask..... SF
  25. Something definitely different, looks like a balloon tie-off.... hmmm. Ideas
