  1. Have heard that a couple of old poms that used to work for sa water released a few of theyre pet pike into the barossa ressy years ago fearing that they would get in a bit of strife for having a noxious species.
  2. The tadpoles are also poisonous and are responsible for killing plenty of fish, crocs and other aquatic life
  3. wont matter once the cane toads get here, then everythin is screwed
  4. Spewin to here that Daz, cheers heaps for lookin after me and passing on plenty of hints and tips over the last few years, will be sadly missed. Good luck fella no doubt will bump into each other at some stage.
  5. I dont think Kat takin 1 40cm is gonna have too much effect compared to the hordes fillin there buckets daily, take it eassy
  6. me and my mate found a dead one washed up on the beach at Pt Vincent when we were young, we could not get over the size of this beast as we had been catchin 20-25cm models for the last 3 days. Would of easily gone 40cm and FAT we thought it was a salmon at first, it had a hook in its mouth connected to one of those pre made gar and tommie float rigs you get at any good YP servo lol. Still to this day have not seen one that even comes close to this.
  7. Try not to hold poor nemo with your fingers in his gills thanx as this could cause long term damage to the poor little fella.
  8. UHF will have a heart attack when he sees this lol.
  9. hopefully if they do introduce a license scheme it will scare off some of the tight arsed ocean rapists.
  10. Have a look at the nitro voodoos mate, i just scored a 2nd hand one online, still in awesome cond. for $200. Awesome rod too, will be able to use it for just about everythin.
  11. And they wonder why there are bugger all fish around, what a waste
  12. says in the article, fish weighs 30lbs
  13. Def not fakes, Japanese blokes keep em that size as pets in dam sized ponds, crystal clear too. Good quality koi in Asia can fetch rediculous amounts of money. Awesome lookin fish.
  14. Aggies best aquarium shop in SA by far, Mark the owner certainly knows his stuff, wicked lookin blues hoopsey
  15. Hey mate i used to keep and breed green and gold severums, awesome fish def one of my faves, they look sick when fully grown. A tank that size will house 2 sevs perfectly(wouldnt go anymore than that though as they do shit alot lol). Your bolivians shark and gourami will be fine as they grow big enough not to be eaten and will co exist perfectly with your severums. Severums usually grow between 20 and 30cm and with 30% weekly water changes and 3 good feeds a day will reach that size and FAT in about 2 years time. Unfortunately it wont take long for them to start pickin off your neons as there
  16. give the lucanus jigs or octa jigs and stuff a crack for the snaps, the outfit may be a bit heavy for workin these though, not too though sure as i havent really looked at em let alone used em. Have read in magazines and seen blokes usin em on foxtel fishin shows and they do pretty well. Someone else here will have more experience with them than i do.In 20 metres of water though id rather be chuckin round sum plastics or blades on the lighter gear for snaps. Good luck mate hope ya nail a few
  17. Lipstix wrote: Are you snappahuntas wife??????????? lolWeedie asked for an opinion right? The reputation that malaluka fishin gear has is pretty piss poor. Therefore why are all the "tackle snobs" gonna tell him that his set up is goin to be fine and will catch him plenty of big fish when the reality is it will probabaly blow up or seize up after not much use at all. There are heaps of good fishos on this site that can help people out when choosing gear. If its clearly not worth the effort then dont post rubbish comments. Think too many people are crossin over to here from fishsa these days lol.
  18. Was more so referin to the reels, i still use a couple of cheap rods and cant fault them. I wasnt tryin to bag weedie and his choice of gear in my post, im not fussed what gear he buys as i wont be usin it. But why tell the bloke it will be sweet for chasin big snaps etc. What if he goes out chasin snapper hooks into a huge eagle ray and his reel blows up, which would be very likely have seen it with that sorta gear plenty of times. Hes gonna jump back online spewin with everyone for tellin him that his reel will be fine. Shimano and daiwa are pumpin out some very cheap but reliable gear these

Just keep a good eye on it and clean it up after each trip.I swear to god some people would buy one rod over another just because it's MORE expensive.Apart from an UGLy StIK that was a gift ( my snapper rod ) , all my other rods are pretty cheap.ABU muscle tip 2 under $50Shimano Et plastics rod under $80Tsunami bull
  20. best way to learn knots is youtube i reckon, thats how i learnt the bimini and a few others.
  21. Youl be happy and get many years of service out of either mate.
  22. Th blue stuff is shithouse for finesse bream fishin when you need to be watchin your line at all times for tiny hits. I used it once and could barley see my bloody line in the water disgusting stuff, but as you said youl be targetting salmon etc so ul be fine. I woulda gone the yellow though for its visibilty.
