I've seen a 'table' spiked into the shallows / flats, probably as I've never fished the flats up North for those calm water conditions.

A S&M member here, 'Underpants', has a floating bucket to put the fish in, tackle and rod holder.

    A possible thought anyway.

A few more shots of the axles: 20&25mm electrical conduit, endcaps & saddles. Self tapping screws to hold the saddles & endcaps onto the axles. Saddles - short bolts with nylon locnuts thru the base of the tub. Axles wear out from sand working its way in so need replacing as needed. I went stainless not marine grade, cheaper and easy to replace.

Cant claim the fame tho, the design is Mozzie's from Gotcha Tackle (he usually has them for sale going into our crabbing season). Ive just personalised it.

Have to agree Bjorn, not many reports coming through.

Seems a bit slower this year on the Salmon, even though some good ones have been caught.

Remember that a great prize is up for grabs in the S&H competition that  includes Spotters cap, sun shade, sunglasses strap and a pair of awesome SPOTTERS FURY (Gloss Black) with Halide lens.

Give us a great report, photos and / or video of your Salmon sessions to be in with a chance of winning this great Spotters prize.

And of course check out the site from Spotters www.spotters.com.au for putting up this prize for S&H members.

Not many salmon reports going up? Are people finding any salmon out there at the moment?

The webcams can certainly help with decisions about whether to go or not and as Salty says it shows the wind, rain and sometime the sunshine

Just thought this site may be of some interest to the members on the site.. I know these are web cams set on a variety of lakes here in Tasmania, but I've found them to be quite interesting as one slowly moves the cursor across the screen. There are several  changes of weather conditions and a variety of boats and fishermen that move past the camera as you slowly scroll across the screen.. This was on opening day here in Tassie.. August 5th.. plenty of fisho's braving the cold weather..     not this little black duck, he's staying home in the warm.. it's now blowing at 45 KPH here..

    cheers
    Adrian

Will also add that when you do find topside out cheap is to ask them to slice for you .

I will normally ask for around 2mm thick sometimes they have done it free but the most has been $1 per kg.

Don't forget that a smoker will also do a great job with added flavour.

I normally will do a batch of 2kg in the smoker and when I do find the cheap meat I will marinate into batches
and put into the really big ziplock bags and freeze really saves a lot of time and mess

Reminds me of why I wanted to settle in Darwin, but Pam did not like the humidity, funny how it did not effect her when we lived in Malaysia. Great pics as usual Adrian. Saw way too much snow down there when we did our snow survival training at Cradle Mountain.
