Alot of hard effort will get a metre fish, i don't think people actually realise how hard it is to crack the metre it might be tomorrow it might be in 5 years time.............. It's not just a matter of 2 trips.... Less talk more action seen me finally crack it after absolutely flogging the onk to death for months on end...... Nice fish never the less.............

The other rod/s get reeled in and put away , bait pump gets turned off and pulled up , lights (if needed) get turned on , puts anything thats in the way away , net gets ready and still does some paddling ! I bought the canoe second hand Des , and most of the mods are in my photos .Bjorn2fish and Bluegoose , the camera i use is a GO PRO HERO HEADCAM which is actually advertised on this site between or at the end of pages . Just a quick one hopefully . Went out fri night down the onk with my misses Sian . Spent six hours chasing live bait for just 2 fish . Got about 2 dozen bream in the process (if not more) to about 20cm . Got a bit annoying , used up all our bait . Ran into Fushlups and MrT out on the onk . It was dark by this time an all i saw was these faint silhouettes cast by their fishfinders lump out at me . Nice to meet you fellas should catch up for a better intro and a mully sesh in the yaks and canoe ? Ran into them a couple of more times and then waited for the right time to cast my 1 bait fish in . cheers fella's but all i did was put the bait on for her . Sian cast , hooked up and reeled them in by herself . i wasnt even sure if Sian would hold the mulloway for her photo but she got stuck into it which was cool . It was a cracking night . I have edited into the video some writing for the first time . took me a few hours last night but i'm slowly getting the hang of it . that mentions what i do with the fish . thanx again fellas

Leeroy and i headed out for another onka sesh last night . Leeroy has spent a good many hours on the onka with me but with little success , so for christmas i got him a baitrunner reel to help with his chances . Keen as mustard we were on the river by 5 to catch some bait fish and then get stuck into some serious fishing . Not to long after we were sitting there i had a run . Strike but no hook up spew . Then Leeroy's reel has a run , bang . He's onto it . Line peelimg off i release the anchor an paddle him around to regain some line . With a nice little fight we land the mulloway an it goes a solid 68 cm . NICE Leeroy's first . Back to the anchor . Not more than 20 minutes later , Leeroy's reel has another run with the line peeling off at speed bang he strikes . The rod bent double and the drag screaming this fish was not slowing down . I release the anchor and paddle after it but its still not slowing down . Holy S%@# yells Leeroy as more line screams off his reel . The fish slows down and Leeroy gets some line back and then the line traces past us and then the drag screams again . Now by this time its 2 or 3 minutes in and i'm doing all the paddling and getting tired . Turn the canoe around and off in the other direction . Any way this goes on for 7 minutes before we see any colour . BIG FISH . Leeroy did awesome to get the fish to the canoe . I tried to land the fish but it didn't fit in the landing net properly and with another go at getting it in the line snapped and it was gone . spew spew spew . With an estimate of a metre plus is was a big let down not to get it in the canoe to make it official . By this time it was dark (hence the lack off video) so finding the anchor was a bit difficult . We were sitting there contemplating the what if's when Leeroys reel does another screamer . He's onto another one . We didnt worry about the anchor this time as he was confidant he could bring it in . That mully went 59 cm . Another excellent onka mully sesh . Leeroy 2 me 0 and Leeroy wont be coming again . Ha . Just kidding .

My mate Leeroy was a bit under the weather but now the weather had cleared so i headed out for a mulloway sesh with my nephew Cooper who is 10 yrs . We were on the water by 5 an saw some fella in a tinnie motoring along with his son an wife merrily as can be . Had a good run but new i could land it without dropping anchor . 49cm mulloway . Choice . Having some good knocks and bait going bananas i was hopeful of another run . Fresh bait an a cast an no more than 30 seconds ( check the video ) a solid hookup . Sweet . I drop the anchor and head up river to retrieve some line . It felt a lot bigger than the 46cm that it went but it was still a mulloway Just before we called it a night i hook up on a solid 35 cm bream. Not a bad weekend really and i didn't touch the drag .

Not beaten I looked forward to a sesh on the coming sat night with a good mate Leeroy (a lucky charm) that had been busy the previous couple of outings .Sat rolls round an the wind is blowing an the rain is patchy . Having doubts I rang my mate an he is still keen so with that I load up , pack the wet weather gear an head off .In the water we get on to some live bait quickly an have enough for a good night sesh in no time . Sweet . We arrive at the spot and rig up our rods with the live bait and cast out . Sitting there watching our lines , the weather looks interesting to say the least and we are doubting it was a good idea . Next thing I can see my live bait start to go bananas an bang I get a hit . The line starts peeling off but not too aggressively . I'm wondering if its a large bream ? No it's a 50cm mulloway . Not to shabby . Yeah it's not a bad idea hey !Release the fish , bait up again and relax . Sitting there with my mate I was asking if he saw my bait go bananas before the run , then explaining how you can sometimes see through your line an rod what your bait is doing in the water . When the bait doesn't want to be there you can see your line go very erratic . Not more than ten minutes went past , we are both watching our lines and notice that they are relatively close to each other . Contemplating moving a line I see the end of Leeroy's rod an line get very erratic an not a second later my rod an line also starts going bananas .Which rod is it going to hit ? Bang . My rod keels over and line starts peeling off . I hit an hook-up nicely an feel a nice weight to the head pumps . Awesome .Leeroy does an awesome job of reeling in his line an the anchor an getting the net ready . we start drifting with the ingoing tide an I can reel in some of this line that has peeled off . I get a glimpse of silver an think "big fish" an it takes another dive . It gets close to the canoe an Leeroy has a swing with the net but it does another dive an nets the sinker instead . Spew . Quick hands and the sinker is free . Another swing of the net an Leeroy is spot on an in the net the fish folds . Woo hoo! Solid 80cm . Not my PB but close and definitely not complaining . Just before we headed off , Leeroy did manage to get a PB bream of 42 cm . It was a great idea !
