  2. Any word on the "shortly" part... next week perhaps??Really looking forward to this one
  3. random question???? HELL NO!This winter had me beaten down and falling asleep in my boat (I use the term boat very loosely):PThe wicked, wicked SATAN sent season of misery is closely making way for the glory months!!! Woooooohoooooo! :woohoo: get pumped people... The ladies are shedding their layers :silly: the.footy finals are getting serious, the BREAM are stirring, the YFW are rising, the shitties are receiving orders ready for.their annual D DAY invasion of the estuaries, the snook are sharpening their fangs, the sharks are circling, the blooooody Mulloway are a schooooooooling and of cou
  4. :c Had high hopes for my long awaited week off work. Was going to pt Augusta, the Pirie and had settled on taking my boy to Pirie, just me and him. But with the crappy weather, it wouldn't have been great dragging a six year old up there and so my half baked fishing plans died a quiet death. In place of a good adventure, I had three rather odd local trips;1. Port river.I went out solo in the tinny on Monday (I think). It was so peaceful and relaxing out there that I set up at a mulloway spot and promptly fell asleep :ohmy:By the time I was woken by a passing boat, it was dark and the boat h
  5. Crispy mate, I reckon you've spent most of the last twelve months decking that Terror out yeah... maybe this summer will be enjoying it and catching big bags ;)By the way, that boats either just a far superior performer or you're a much better skipper than I! Cos it's taken me forever to leave the Port, and when I have gone outside I've felt very uneasy I actually only go out to sea solo because I don't want to risk anything happening to a passenger :(thinking seriously that I might need to consider saving my pennies for a larger vessel
  6. Love to see bulk photos to pump us up for the next 12 months! What's been your story, yer fishing journey and triumphs??It been a brutal winter here in Adelaide but I've loved the tales of success and determination from some on this forum, well done lads :clap:But maybe for the not so lucky (me ) maybe it's a good time to reflect on 12 months gone as we ramp up for a good spring to part the clouds and warm up the fishing action!!!! For me, last July saw us land some ripper salmon trout 35-40cm fish with regularity and just when it couldn't get any better, we discovered a nice little patch o
  7. Hey chrispin' date=' yeah i hope it helps the guys hooking the bigguns and loosing em. I love my big fishies. P.s Did any of you guys read the story? what did you honestly think?[/quote']I haven't but will. Could be just tye thing to send me to Augusta next week atm im going Pirie for other stuff instead. Have you been up pt Augusta lately?
  8. For a long time I asked myself the same question, and then just kind of forgot about it. I wonder if it's all fresh or is there some brackish water in there too? Lately I've seen some people fishing in there and my feeling is they are fishing for carp. I think it is mainly just loads of storm water run off and imagine perfect for the carp. I have never seen the signs closely but have been.told.fishing is a no no.Looking at tye area as I head up the south rd extension/ port expressway, it looks wonderful and imagine how.good it might be if stocked with.trout  it would be a fly
  9. Rec fishing is one thing, and rod and line fishing can still be damaging if people are going to go nuts, but the netters are the big problem! I would suggest that even if a rec fisho is responsible for the at least 15 fish, the overall drop in numbers you are seeing must come from some extensive netting. From what I understand, the Mulloway fishery in this State is very very healthy as a whole. Also mulloway by nature are not easy to take in numbers while feeding, ie rod and line. Maybe a very experienced rec angler could take 50fish in a session. Most punters would see the creeks as dev
  10. 1. Ramps cost a lot o money.2. There's a perfectly good one at north haven3. What else would they do since it's a marina, home of the coastguard etc and that.Is there some talk of building houses on that massive carpark????? That's the only way this.rumour could have credence I reckon... Bloody developers.... That land would he worth a fair bit  Reckon it's BS, and hope it's BS. Surely Ugly4life would've heard something..... Anyone got anything?
  11. Great fish mate.. Pearler
  12. Killa photo Samboman... Really mate, that is brilliant
  13. ...yeah, and you don't wanna get caught up there without a paddle
  14. Just looking at it from a different point of view for a moment; The rig you use is a small part of the overall picture. Finding a location where the mulloway are prepared to feed, is probably the majority of the battle won... Then WHEN they are likely to feed! ;)An example I remember well is my dad laughing at me forking out for expensive leader material. We were on the fish this particular day, and he cut a piece of 80lb colored braid (for tuna), and used this as his trace  he then attached a single 5 or 6/0 hook and cast half a pilchard out..... BANG! Fish on without delay... 90cm mu
  15. I will be leaving the tinny home and joining the st Kilda parade tomorrow morning too lol...that's if I can drag my sorry carcus outta bed sometime in the A.M. :cheer:
  16. Nice photo' date=' but 650bux[/quote']i think you'll find they are only around $300 for this model SamboWas down at Harvey Norman today and the wife was getting a bloody Samsung tablet thingo... She was feeling a bit guilty about getting it, so I took my opportunity and said..."well I'll get a camera then and we'll just say it's an anniversary present to ourselves".... Man im one smoothe dude at times :PSo straight to the cabinet and maaaan it's hard to choose! Then sambos words came to me like obi wan kenobi when Luke was havin a crack at the death star ;)"put em all away" said I. And b
  17. Just got home an hour ago from a cracker of a day. :)Got rained on a bit lol. Chased some big bream and hunted some mulloway but.the only thing on the chew in the cold 11degree water was salmon trout. Did a lot if exploring and prospecting.... I still haven't got my landlegs back Pearler of a day jimbo and stu... I'll sleep well tonight and have to wait for my dreams to actually CATCH a mully... Lol.Good times!
  18. What's goin on this weekend, where are the fish going to be biting??Im going for a run out from st Kilda to catch all the salmon trout on me way out, then king George storm a bit wider followed by a port mulloway :PWho's got the hot tip????Who's mad enough to be wetting a line??Cheers all and tight lines hey... Bloody hard work out and about lately.... But still lovin it :woohoo:
  19. Mate, I never use circles or a bait runner reel. Just me, but I've done okay and find no reason to change. I see loose line and loose drags as being my enemy with all fish except bream. Not to say baitrunner functions aren't good, but I don't use em and certainly wouldn't bother mucking around letting snapper run... Don't really see the need, but.do concede that some of these shallow water snapper dudes may well know what they are doing!!! So can't argue with what works for em.Thats my two cents if it's helpful
