  1. Is the spot a dam or creek? Do you mean safwaa? It is a dam and you actually mean safwaa then you are mistaken about it being stocked for all. Safwaa has dams all over the state that they look after and stock with agreements with the owners and yes they are for club members only and the member that told you how to get there has broken the rules of being a member (I think, I'm not a member)
  2. Nice video weaves and great fish rhett
  3. Great pics of one of my favourite areas Did you have a fish while you were there?
  4. I've heard that Tonics are average, I had a pair of Makos and loved them till the arm screw snapped and half is stuck in the arm. I've also had Oakleys which were my favourite till they got left on the roof of the car at Thompson when I drove off. My current pair I got through my health insurance. I looked at maui jims as they have a lifetime warranty but where out of my budget. I ended up with Oakleys again and love them as they are light and very comfortable
  5. Great work jayman. Nothing wrong with taking the bag limit when its to feed family and friends. There are bag and limit sizes and everyone's entitled to take what they want within the rules. You can call yourself robin hood with that catch I you pinched it from the pros.....lol
  6. Very helpful post How do you find the running sinker attachment running up and down the braid, I thought it would cause the braid the rub and go fluffy and weaken the braid. I've always tied a small leader to my braid and then attached the rig to that. I've always thought maybe to many connections but thought braid direct to swivel etc was a no no
  7. Thanks weaves great little video of some nice bream
  8. Nice work mate. Hanging for a snapper session but booked solid with Xmas stuff till after Xmas. Might have to sneak out early one morning before wifey wakes up....lol
  9. Great work mate always love your reports, great pics How often do you come across snakes when you out at this time of year. I always feel anxious when creek bashing at this time of year and find I go chasing other species for that reason
  10. Sorry mate would have to disagree with you this time. Years ago I used to use frozen and persevered worms with no change In catch rate compared to fresh. For the last fee years I've barely used bait on yfw, If they wont hit the popper I change to a gulp turtleback worm and they smash them harder than bait I recon. Out of curiosity mate, what size jighead are you using? and are you using a stinger hook at all? i've given it a shot slightly with the plastic worms but hadn't found the hook up rate to be real good, might just be down to the size of the whiting that were around at the time though
  11. Cant go wrong with either in my opinion. Two of my favourite places Venus is a real layedback sleepy town with only really two shops One at the caravan park and the general store that has been for sale for a long time. I havnt been there for awhile but I did hear through the grape vine it is now shut (might just have been on holidays) Streaky is a great place and still a country town but at least has a couple of servos, couple of supermarkets, bakery, cafes and a PUB and the owner is a good bloke too. I love Venus nut would choose streaky just for the convenience of not having to drive t

  13. Wow sg amazing how you can get the lures to sit perfectly sideways lol Adam that's a very impressive collection mate
  14. Hey sssshhhhhh there's no whiting on the flats, you southerners need not waste the time driving out here
  15. Yep last 3 years been the same hey. He runs a jet drive and have seen him set his net over the channel and then run up and down flat chat herding them. Once I see him I normally hit other spots now
  16. Well done on your first trip out there. Id be guessing you are both now fellow flats addictives. I havnt been out there for 3ish weeks now and no chance for another couple so your report will help me through. I'm a bit surprised you didn't bag on whiting they should be thick arm.
  17. I've got the current Ci4+ 1000 and so far so good, its landed fat 48cm salmon and was smooth but I could feel the flex people talk about. I still rate my tired old bashed fi 1000 stradic, that thing has been dunked, dropped, scrapped has caught mullies, bream and snapper and is still going strong. I wish I had bought a fj instead of the ci4+ especially considering they were cheaper too
  18. A mate of mine is a fisheries officer and yes very very underfunded. The boat levy that we pay should be at least partly used to help fund fisheries but I'm not actual sure that levy ever goes to what its meant to.
  19. Lol, bit of fire in the belly today ah chaps Ps...... Definitely spider crab
  20. Congrats sbarnden, well deserved for some awesome reports and pics
  21. I'm running the same line. I normally run 4 pound but have gone to 6 this time to try the new sunline PE8 and so far I'm loving it. I've had no wind knots. Also going to six pound has nor effected casting or catch rates either
