  4. Cowell is a cracker spot mate, plenty of whiting around the harbour.. some of the schools in there are pretty scary. You'll need a pair of waders.Theres a turn off on your left just before you get into cowell, you'll pass the caravan park and come to the boat ramp there take the next trail past the last property and nt far past is a few trails that'll get ya iinbetween the mangrooves.. little tip is just cast in shin deep water before you wade out coz ive scared schools of 50 trying to walk out.I always got tweed prawns or frozen worms from the servo, the whiting there will even take squid or
  5. If it wasnt such a drive id do it this weekend and live bait salmon try for a bronzie.. Hate to hook a seal but might just be another good live bait for a whaler :silly:

  11. Even tho i havnt crackd a biggie itd have to be chasing a big bronzie land based.. i could sit out there all nightNeva get bored of sitting out there with the big baits suspended under a couple ballons and cant wait for the first time i hear that clicker really sing..Shame the stupid laws will probably slim my chances of a metro biggie but between yorkes and down south im sure this year it will all come togetherPauly
  12. yer zmans are the only plastic ive had it happen.. they will melt if kept with most other plastics. So i always keep in the packet insted of emptying them in the plano box. still my favorite plastic on the market.. wont change plastic for 15 fish with zman but most the time using gulps ill lose on first fish.
  13. Lol yer there trouties man... You wouldn't be the first or last to make the mistake tho mateBut you do catch tommies on hard body's, plastics n metals.. I was salmon fishin Sunday and got a nice 1 on a 60g slug, to bad the seagull found it seen him flyin off with it Pauly
  14. To bad the crows playd like a bunch of girls...
  15. nothing stopin u fighting a smaller marlin on stand up gear and would be the fight of ur life, but i do agree fighting a fish out of a game chair wouldnt be on top of my game fish list
  16. 7ft samaki zing or skitch if u wana go the cheaper option. tbh there are hundreds of good rods for mullies n snaps, i think the best rod will be the one that u choose out and like the feel of.when ur in the shop get them to grab out a stradic so u can try it on different rods and find what rod it matches best.goodluck with it
  17. I'm havin same problem ? Asks for a pass word when I'm tryin to join .... Tried my accounts pass n user and no goodEdit. Lol just read the first posts, hopefully it works
  18. Not often you loose lures to salmon so I'd defiantly get them... By time you buy shit metals and catch few big fish on them the split rings and trebs need to be changed, so do yourself a favour and buy lures with good shit already on them Think they have 45g 1s at tackle world so should cast a mile with the right setup... Pauly
  19. Cant comment on the exceler.. but my plans are to buy a daiwa seajigger, catalina 9 - 10 ft rod want it to be resonably stiff so cast upto 60g metals easy. Will be matching it with my stradic ci4 4000. Should be able to cast it all day without killing your arms, last season i was using a 11 ft rod N a penn slammer and your arms would feel as if they were gnna drop off. I had a cast with a simular combo as ive said but a 5000 fj stardic, casted a mile.15 - 20lb braid is heaps manHopfuly get out their a few trips with ya this season mate Pauly
  20. good stuff man praying i can get a legal fish b4 the season is out
  21. Found exactly the same on my Shimano Sienna 2500 when I was tempted to overload the spool with it all being a bit new to me. As soon as the cut offs of the wind knotted bits brought the levels back again' date=' the line operated as sweet as' date=' even to this day [/quote'']unfourtantly my slammer was dropped in the sand and had two waves go through it  made my 'mate' give us the money and havnt spoken to him since lol
