  1. P1080233.jpgHad another great day with James fishing around Outer harbour. We fished for gar at first with no luck for the first 2hrs. But I did manage a small zebra fish thing. P1080197.jpgLater on, the gar started to turn on, we got em cast after cast! B) Most of the gar were legal sized from 24cm to 26cm. Later on, we moved spots and managed to land around 30 odd bream. Cast after cast aswell! :woohoo: All released of course. But they soon tuned off the bite. We flicked for st with lures and James managed to get his first on a FLY while he was demonstrating how to cast with my rod! :silly: P1080218.jpgP1080229.jpgP1080236.jpgAnother awesome day, saw some silver drummer, snapper, mullies, whiting, sweep and morwong but we couldn't get em interested. :( Although James did hook a HUGE (70cm+) snapper on bread right at the rocks! It unfortunately spat the hook as it was a garfish hook :P We were spewing. :c
  2. You will get that 40+ bream Alex' date=' just got to find him and fool him.On another note, how do you get ur baits past all the tiny bream? Gave it a go the other day and only got it to a decent fish 3 times, the rest picked off.[/quote']Cheers fished out, I use pilchard cubes which usually stay on the hook really well. I got a tip to keep it on the hook, just hook the bait and pull the hook through it. Do that a few times and it should stay on a bit longer. ;)
  3. CHeers guys!@Tinker: Cheers for the positive comments! We used pilchard chunks and I only wish to break the 43cm mark! Well done, that's a pretty decent fish. I hope I get some 40cm+ bream this weekend and maybe even my first mully ;) @queeny: That sounds awesome! I sure will let you know if I don't break the 40cm mark before April. Must be a real secret spot to have that many 40cm fish :)

  4. nice going Alex what were they caught on mate bait or lure ?any video always enjoy watching your lil sessions only 4cm off keep at it bud cheers 4THA

Haha cheers 4THA, they were caught on bait, I am working on the video right now! It probably won't be up until next week though. The last session we had I got a 37cm bream and James got a 39cm bream. Only 1cm off!!!! :woohoo: :P
  5. James and I went to west lakes on the quest for the 40cm bream. Straight away when we got there, we got some takes and James managed a nice 36cm bream already! P1070927.jpgP1070932.jpgAlways good to have a catch and release session. Anyways, we persisted into some smaller bream and landed another decent one which was 34cm. P1070934.jpgFished on for another 5 hrs and landed numerous small ones with the occasional decent bream. We finished the day with two 36cm bream and five 35-33cm bream. Another good session with most fish being legal but of course, all fish released :):headbang:P1070945.jpgP1070956.jpgWe didn't manage to land a 40cm+ bream but... :(

  6. Hell yeah guys awesome job! I've been trying there lately too and actually caught my first mully earlier tonight on a soft plastic in West Lakes. I was so pumped but as I grabbed the leader the fish shook it's head and spat the lure :c I was spewing! Going to get a landing net tomorrow B) Great footage I might look into getting one of those cameras' date=' which one is that Alex, the under water footage is great![/quote']Cheers Codez, I used a panasonic lumix camera.
  7. James and I finally set off to target mullies. First we were fishing for livies with little sps and bait but all of them were undersized. We kept fishing with sp for st and then the water stopped running. James casted his sp where the water was running and saw a huge silver flash which he thought was a massive salmon but it came back for the lure and fully engulfed it! James Screamed out MULLY! So I started filming. ;)

  8. I believe you Jake, as Booma said, there was a school of kingfish reported. There was even a photo of the school cruising along the edge near the newest bridge. It would be pretty cool if someone landed one in the port but it would be challenging. Im sure someone will catch one eventually. :)

  9. well done mate' date='great fun isnt it! what size jig head were you using? Get most of mine on bait but got 3 recently on sp's,both pretty exciting.Monkey[/quote']Cheers, it was great fun! I caught em on a 1/16 ounce jighead. It only retrieved along the surface from the jetty so I would go a 1/8 ounce jighead.
