That's man is not well! Like kelvin said... You don't yank, and from personal experience... Once you get to the barb... That's where the fun begins. I don't recommend pulling it through. I found sliding a knife blade down and using that to push the skin away from the barb worked best for me.
You'll end up doing some proper damage if you just rip it out!!
    That guys an absolute idiot!!

Was there last year and seen some bloke spin up 3 nice Trout on the main lake edge just on the outskirts of town, but bloody cold. So many likely spots all around the area, you'll love it and next time I go back to NZ the travelling rods will come with me

Poor technique with the string yank technique. You need to stabilize the shank of the hook to stop it twisting and keep the point inline with the direction of removal. It is by far the safest and easiest removal technique.

    Hi gregmacc

While I can't personally recommend this product through experience, there seems to to be some online "buzz" about its effectiveness:

    http://www.naturesbotanical.biz/products.html

I vaguely remember it being offered as a special at Snowy's Outdoors a few months ago.
You may wish to check it out, anyway...

Personally, I can live with the "over the head" fly nets - inelegant, slightly uncomfortable but effective, nonetheless...

Yeah it's all just predictions, most people concentrate on the hour either side so a few minutes is neither here nor there
It would be good if they could get the wind forecasts spot on though

mmm ,very interesting ,only time will tell, but i think there would be better for a more natural way to eradicate the carp and usage of the carps when they are dead ,

Brankim reacted to Tristman in wallaroo jetty snapper
My old man was hassling me to go fishing at wallaroo jetty for snapper, he had me in a headlock begging me.
So i gave in we hit the jetty a nine pm as that is the prime time for snapps at the jetty, we got to our spot at the jetty anchored up 45 meters away.

As the boat settled in with the wind and the tide, the old boy was in straight away (we like to free float at the jetty) he didint get the chane to put his rod down and he was on.
This was the result nice little wallaroo snapper
I proceeded to cast my rod for my first cast and this

Only spent two hours on the water 7 fish in total c@r lost a couple of horses to the structure, so there is good fish at the jetty at the moment was a cracker session.

Dunno why he calls it a disease when they say a natural yet Unknown event.... IMO, contamination is the only possible cause.
The penguins and Pelicans would only be effected from eating contaminated fish?
And for their tests not to have found anything... To me, is clearly saying that they were fully aware of the risks, possible outcomes, but won't ever admit that they pushed the profit margins alittle too far, and are now trying to cover their own arses.
    But, thats just my opinion...

Generally a 1/16th or 1/20th and I bite about 3/4 of an inch of the turtle back worm off. By doing this it has made a huge difference to hook up rate. I have thought about running a stinger but have just been to lazy and never done it yet.
I must change my position on fresh worms as I forgot you mainly fish metro and yes would agree metro fresh is best

Fishing can be like that sometimes... It's kind of like any carp fisho will tell you corn is an excellent bait! And I've seen plenty caught on corn.... But I have yet to catch a single carp on corn myself? and I've tried corn a good 30-40 times! Only ever caught 1 catfish on it...

I got no idea why, and if I didn't know better, I'd say it wasn't even worth trying...

It just goes like that sometimes?!

Guess you just never know what will work for you until you try it yourself...

Maybe the ones at my spots have just been spoilt by me always using fresh live worms?

Have had days when I've had salted and frozen worms, and seen them coming up to my baits, but then stopping short and swimming away in abit of panic... Every other species seems to eat them without hesitation...
But I'm convinced I'm just waiting my time going without livies where I go...

I'd generally agree with you there Keeno. However I know Brandkim  usually fishes metro (which i never have..yet), different structures likely feeding patterns. Dunno but id have to gauge from his observations for metro over our 'usual' grounds.
