That's pretty poor from Shimano. Certates are very nice, would take one over a stradic in a heart beat.
 
The flex would definitely annoy me, the one reel I have that did that is now a big paper weight.

New Ci4+ aren't as good as the Ci4 originals.
The FJs were a brilliant reel, I knocked my 1000 around a lot and it's still going strong minus the cosmetics. The FKs are wicked reels as well imo. Really solid but still have that finesse element to them.

His Stradic has problems staying on the land, it wants to go and swim with fish all the time
 
I've heard from a few customers who prefer the old Stradic Ci4 that Southie has over the new ones. They thinks it's not as good quality for what you pay. I've got the new Daiwa Caldia 2506 and I love mine, very smooth, light, etc.

I just got the new daiwa black  label V2 rod and OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZZING ROD!!! This was an upgrade from my previous daiwa generation black which served me well for a few years 

Make sure you get yourself a couple of daiwa double clutches both in 60mm and 75mm BIG BREAM CANDY ALRIGHT!!! One of my double clutches would have caught at least double if not triple every lure in my tackle box hands down!!! Before i got a double clutch my go to was the SX40 in 351 or 307. Will be getting myself a few nories, OSP and megabass to trial but im tipping they wont be as productive as the double clutch.... And yes that elusive 50cm bream is definitely on the cards for me also

Yep double clutches are sweet, I've got so many hb lures its not funny but you can never have enough I say. I redid my lure trays the other night and had them all out on the table, the wife walked past and made a comment about how many there are and how much $ worth? I had to laugh because i know she doesn't really want to know think she would fall over

I've tried that using a KREH loop, but found sometimes fouled with the front treble, as I'm not tying them small enough
I'm going to try a solid ring to the split ring & just tie a uni or locked blood knot to the solid ring, see how that goes
that might make them drop nose first tho' I suppose

Ooo they are available now then? Did look the goods in the promo shots but never actually seen them. The Isomes are certainly pretty good.

You reminded me Fishingmad - same thing happened to me, also at Pt Willunga.
 
Tide was coming in and a couple waves getting close to my gear, so went to move a bag higher up and when I had turned around to get the rest of the gear a rogue wave had swept the rest away.
 
Luckily I still had rod in hand, but lost a white bucket with my catch, good knife, all my bait and berley plus my cutting board - couldn't save any of it - although the cutting board washed up about 20mts down.

Nice video mate, cool to see the bream you caught was tagged, that could yield some interesting data. I wonder if it will hang around in the Onk or head out of the mouth.
