G"day Butters, yes it was a beautiful looking Trout.I caught it on a fly about 10 years ago now.It was bleeding from the gills when the pic was taken as it swallowed it right down. You can see where I cut the line hanging from its mouth if you look at the pic.He revived in the water and slowly swam off hopefully to grow bigger.Havent kept a Trout for years, something about fishing for them I love, its getting into the beautiful country and spots plus the fresh air,I think thats the best part of it, any fish is a bonus.Plus its something different.I have some old pics of some horses but am reluctant to put them up as they were from the days when I was a lad and they are not excactly Catch and release if you get my drift.Cheers {SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gif

G"day guys @Drawn, yes I had another try but no luck, only went to the downstream one, did catch one tiny reddy, but saw those big carp, not too keen on them being in there to be honest, couldnt get them to bite either, they seemed pretty wise .Butters , with the Rainbows and browns, it depends on which water you fish I guess, some are suited better for Rainbows some Browns, and whether the fly assotiation has kindly stocked whichever species in there.2 years ago I did quite well on nice Rainbows, but didnt get out much last year on the trout , the drought and low water seems to definately affected the fish in some of the places , not quite as good fishing as once was.Cheers {SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gifPosted Image

Heres a piccy of one of my most recent biggish captures. Its a Bow that i bought about 2 1/2 years ago at about 6-7cm long, Grew em up to about 150-200gs in a rather elaborate setup in my backyard, then stocked em into a dam with a good food chain. More recently they have become very hard to tempt on lures, though they will respond to baits. This fish took 6 trips and over 20 hours of lonely lure casting, it swallowed the lure and i was starving so it got knocked on the head (not something i do normally).Ill try to find some big Trout pics soon. size=533http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/85a9jL9B__damtrout.JPG[/img]

Nice rainbow Yak.Cal, My brother went to the pool where you caught the tench on the weekend.....it's only got a tiny bit of water about 1ft deep in a little pocket. There was a few decent size redfin dead in the dry spots and a few hundred redfin fry left in the little bit of water that was left. He couldn't see the tench. Bugger!!!Drawn

I normally do a trip or two every year to Lake Eucumbene in NSW. I mainly baitfish with powerbait and usually do very well with Rainbows and Browns to the low 50s. We've hooked a few bigger ones though. We normally fish for food, so the following photos may upset C&R fishermen. But we stick to limits and regulations and none of the fish are wasted. size=850http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/Cv4g7J0C__ecu16.jpg[/img] size=1069http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/LVkDXqRn__DSC00551.JPG[/img] size=1155http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/23x6vdCK__PICT0157.JPG[/img] size=302http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/wonIFfGg__PICT0197_Small.JPG[/img]
