Just thought I'd put this info up for OnkaStomper 12 Fishing Competition being held this Sunday (November 12th, 2017). Date - Sunday 12 November Time - 7am - 12pm followed by presentations Location - Perrys Bend Onkaparinga River (River Road, Noarlunga Downs) Entry Fee - Donation to Childhood Cancer of your choice (Generosity encouraged for this great cause) Registration - Upon Arrival Rules and Fishable Area - explained upon registration but due to past numbers I am restricting fishing to 1 rods per person as I cannot extend the fishable area Everyone who attends

Hi Team. Came across this critter at Largs this morning while walking our dogs. I thought it was a very lost Morton Bay Bug! Apparently it is a Balmain Bug (Ibacus peronii). Never seen one before. Common? The dogs were not happy we let it go! Cheers, Greg.

As a part b'day present from my fiancé and a present to myself I went out and got a new toy on the weekend, it's a thing of beauty so I had to share 13 Fishing Envy Black 7'1" with 2500 Stradic Ci4+ running 8lb Daiwa TD Sensor braid. It's a pity I'm working this Sunday or I'd be trying it out down at Onkastompa!

Beat me to it Doobs! @AuusieDave I'm not sure I've seen anyone fishing in a yak as it's pretty much that chockers you would get hit by flying sinkers and plastics if you were in the river. Landbased only comp. The event is held at Perrys bend with the fishing area being generally 1km up and downstream of perrys

Yep Balmain Bug Morton Bay bugs have their eyes on the outer edge of the carapace where as these are on top Very tasty Critters cheers

VERY TASTY Critters !!! The Tails are very nice , very nice eating, just like crayfish, but just not a lot to go around, so a few more would do nicely .... SF

A friend of mine who used to work on a prawn trawler in Sth Aust used to give them to me, they were quite regularly mixed in with the prawns when they emptied the nets.. cheers Adrian

Took this at 5:40 am this morning just before the moon set, grabbed the little fishing camera.. didn't have time to get the good camera out. The bigger & better camera would have taken a better photo, frosty night & morning forecast so hopefully I can be ready for tomorrow morning when it sets.. cheers Adrian
