Panga reacted to southie THE BANGA in No photoshop. No Editing. Pure camera.
So with the change we had the other day and checking the radar there was signs of lightning that could be heading through Adelaide. I checked the radar after I finished work and saw that most of the lightning was down the south coast, So i didn't worry about it.
Then i get a message from my mate to get down the beach as the lightning was coming. SO raced off to Porties and met up with him. By the time I got there it was gone and my mate left, i thought id hang around to see if anymore was on it's way.
I am glad i stayed! Even though I waited and sat through the periods inbetween flashes which was nearly 4 hours and not having my remote on me to use bulb mode for long exposures. I managed to come up with these 3 crackers.
Now bare in mind that there has been no editing or photoshop, this is how it came straight off the camera! Im pretty impressed with how they turned out.
Hope you enjoy.

Panga reacted to doobie in The Scene - Old Noarlunga has moved to Seaford Road 1.3.16
Not sure Panga, all I know is Telstra is yet to connect him up with same or different number (I'm guessing it will be the same).
Number 224 (Seaford Rd Seaford)
Those travelling South will need to turn right onto Seaford Rd (where new Bunning store is), go over Commercial Rd and will be on the left next to Foodland store.

Panga reacted to Seeseacol in S.A. Seafood
This lot were steamed mate, I put together a smallish 10 crab steamer a couple of weeks ago after suggestions. All good, the first lot 2 weeks back were great, not so this second lot. They seemed to have a reasonable amount of meat, but it was extra soft and watery, thinking maybe they are starting to lose condition down Brighton way. Have been cooking up Crabs since I was a young boy, spent much of my life raking them by the hundreds out of Middle Beach. This is the first time in my life I have rejected eating some crab because of taste, unusual ?...putting it down to poor quality of Crab not so much cooking style.
Bit embarrassing as we had the new Pommie neighbours over for tea who were dying to try some, I think they enjoyed it, I think they got the better ones { smaller, I put dibs on the two larger ones hehehe }, but I chucked my couple in the bin as they were foul....{ age I think mate the Crabs age, not mine }

Tides 4 Fishing http://www.tides4fishing.com/au/south-australia/port-adelaide is actually a bit different to the other resources mentioned. It uses Solunar data to predict the best fishing times. I try to use it to plan trips but quite often find that we cannot be out at the optimum predicted time but will still have a go, we enjoy fishing, catching only makes it better. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the predictions but I have read many good reports on the system.

I use Willy (silly weather) Buoy Weather and windyty and get a good overall idea of the big picture.
Otherwise I lick my finger and get the true indication as I feel they can not pick there noses let alone the weather

Most tide information would be accurate. One thing tide predictions ( tides that are forecasted ) don't take into consideration is differences in Barometric pressure and forecasted weather on any particular day ( differences in barometric pressure and weather are often linked. . Low pressure systems tend to raise sea levels and high pressure systems tend to lower them. Variations in tide will also happen when we have periods of strong winds, normally linked to low pressure systems and affects of sea breeze. When we have prolonged periods of strong wind you will notice large tides at the tops of both gulfs.

Panga reacted to bjorn2fish in Caravan and Camping Lifestyle Show Tickets!!!
QUICK AND EASY COMP!!!
I liked and shared a Facebook past by Fishing Wholesalers on the Strike Hook page and turns out I won a ticket to the Caravan and Camping Lifestyle Show... Not being my intention to win only share for everyone to enter I went into Fishing Wholesalers today to let them know they could put it back up for the comp. "Nah mate it's all good!" I thought there would be a few Strike Hooker's interested so suggested it would go to a Hooker instead... well the one ticket turned into 2
A big thanks to Fishing Wholesalers for the tickets! Be sure to check out their Facey page www.facebook.com/FishingWholesalersAustralia their newly launched website www.fishingwholesalers.com.au which looks very cool and drop in to say g'day some time down at 200 Dyson Rd, Lonsdale.
Now how do you get your hands on these 2 tickets? Simple, just reply to this thread and a winner will be chosen at random (1 post only please). We will leave this running as long as we can to get as many entries but will have to close entries soon to get the tickets to the winner in time.
Please make sure you can use both tickets or give one away to a friend or family member. We can always pick a second winner for a ticket if you choose to only use one ticket.
We will figure out the best way to get the tickets to you via PM. It may pay to not be located in Tasmania or live too far away from the metro area for this comp
Good luck everyone
Let's Go - Caravan & Camping Lifestyle Show
Wednesday 17 February to Sunday 21 February
10am to 5pm
At the Adelaide Showground

Panga got a reaction from lofty64 in To Crab or not to Crab
3 nets / person so this means if you have say 4 people you can have 12 nets But max crabs allowed is 60. If there are only 2 people = 6 nets and 40 crabs.

Panga reacted to Seeseacol in To Crab or not to Crab
Planning on going out in the boat Wednesday with my brother primarily to seek out some crabs around the Brighton area weather permitting, seen a fellow come back with lots last week from the region so they are there somewhere ?
The problem is the tides look rubbish on the day, and worse the next day, but the forecast is good for Wednesday..... do Crabs rely on tide much to be available from the boat using hoop nets ? ........... if you were in my shoes would you go despite tide or wait till the following week ?

Anybody ever used Carp for Crab nets ? Planning on going out on the boat with my brother next week to try for some Blueys around Brighton/Glenelg region as there seems to be some in the area. Have to head down to Milang on lake Alexandrina tomorrow and thought about trying to get a few carp to use as Crab bait...will it work OK, or am I wasting my time ?
