I took these photos last week from my back door at sunset, the air and sky was full of very heavy smoke from the 80+ bush fires that were burning away down here, we've now only got around 50 still going..
These were take over two nights.

I've posted this on another forum a couple of things that have confused me . As you may know I had a traumatic brain injury in October . I'm getting there slowly .
As an outing I was taken to a big Adelaide tackle shop I've shopped there for years .
I asked about a rod I saw on the Diawa fishing show next level on fox . Don't ask me which one except guides were the same materials as the rod . They knew the one took out another rod the one I showed interest in which wasn't there they said 700 bucks the one they stocked 600 bucks . Not sure if their prices are over the top or what .
Then they asked me about reels I said I use a 1000 Diawa and a 750 shimano .
Hmm what do you do I use soft plastics and hard bodies oh no no you shouldn't use reels that small use a 2500 .
I was like ok thanks .
I'm totally confused used both reels on both types of lures caught fish .
And they sold me the 1000 Diawa and were told what I'd use it for .
So yeah confusing but I'll keep using the small reels

Yes it hasn't been that good at all, it's the driest we've seen it in the 16 years that we've been living here... Hopefully we'll get some rain soon to put a few of them out.. better still put them all out..

Sure have been having a rough time over there, with so much forest in Tassie it would be a constant worry

Stay safe over there Adrian.
Everything was dry here in SA by the start of November.
Fingers crossed we don't get a repeat of last year when the Sampson Flat fires tore through.
Was only 5kms from home, over 25 homes lost but thankfully no lives taken.

As with every competition Strike & Hook runs, a detailed report is required to win the monthly prize. A picture here or there in a single thread alone isnt what we are after, we want lots of people sharing their adventures in some adventure Whether you caught fish or not, what tips you could give to novice, a few pictures as well. The aim of these comps is to get people out fishing and make the forum tick over with reports full of information to fill the site with more knowledge
 
Also we are very thankful for Weavers generosity, a session aboard his boat is not one to missed given his angling prowess.

Tried a new spot this arvo for couple of little fish, though this one didn't look bad.

First decent fish of the year, and first decent fish to run in my new 1lb outfit I got for Christmas...

I have been talking with Bjorn about getting a Feb photo comp going where the prize is a day out with me on the river chasing callop on lures.
 
The time and date will be mutually agreed upon so lets see you best  pics for your February fishing efforts fresh or salt, Can be sunrise/set pics, big fish, rare catch oddball etc
 
Winner will be chosen by me at the end of the month so lets get the party started!

Just wish SA Water was reading this thread and feeling some sympathy for us.
Heard stories of big cod in the South Para Reservoir.
When divers went down to inspect the dam wall, they saw huge cod in the deeper water.
South Para is almost empty, so is the Warren, which in my opinion should be kept topped up if we have to pay to fish it.
I also heard of native fish being released in Chain of Ponds and Kangaroo Creek.
Dream of the day when we can fish there.
