I have one which after 3 casts nothing so swapped to others. I usually do this till I hook up then throw a similar one to what works under a float on a hand line and swap when it goes quiet again. Must try the black again (if the wind ever stops).

I think the recs are doing their bit with reduced bag limits but the pro's don't get to join the sacrifice, in fact with the latest changes to crabs the recs had reduced limits and the pros were allocated more.

The Fx reels are well priced but no matter what my friends do they cant seem to kill them when loaned out!

Just a tip when going up there for barra... if your using lures BUY THEM HERE and take them with you. I went up there to chase barra and soft plastics were nearly 50% dearer than here and places like shady camp you lose a lot of gear and its lures only (without trebles).
 
depending how big your bag is a lot of 2 piece rods might still be on the cards? I also found a few local fishing gear shops in Darwin had a larger selection of travel rods than in SA due to the market space so worse case pick something up while your there.
