  1. Nitro viper 6-8kg and luvias 3000, 20lb sunline. Easily my fave combo ive ever owned. Have other lure flickin set ups worth twice as much but can never go past this out fit when im fishing a bit heavier, light as a feather and easy to chuck bigger lures on all day and has stood up to every challenge so far including a crazy 3 hour Queenfish and Gt session in darwin and my first ever SBT at The Neptunes. I will never part with this combo lol its too versatile.
  2. definitely possible. Reckon there would be a few monsters lurking in there in that size range.
  3. Probably because SA fishin is crap and we dont have the variety of species / weather / styles / systems and quality of fish that the rest of the country has.Best Snapper and Whiting fishery in the country. Just over two dozen mulloway have been brought onboard my little tinny over the past 4 months' date=' and they are from shitty little metro creeks. Also landed two wild brown trout on my first effort 30mins.from the city centre. My mate landed a 43cm Bream from the port last month. And given.a boat with a bit of range' date=' theres no stopping a SA Angler away from adelaide.SAMSONS, Kingy

  5. Bimini twistbloodslim beauty allbrightperfection loopReally only lure fish these days so these are the only knots i tend to use
  6. You are a brave man ranger i look forward to reading the results lol
  7. That is freakin comeedy hahahahahaha im in tears
  8. nothin better than light tackle lure fishing imo, sure you do lose quite a few good fish but half the time you wouldnt have got the hook up anyways if you werent fishin light. This style of fishing has taught me to fish properly and a small warning it is highly addicvtive haha believe me you should see my lure and rod collection these days haha.

    Blades

id expect just about any colour will claim you a fish on the right day mate. Keep an assortment of colours and put in planty of casts and something will nail it eventually
  10. me and the mrs seen some small saltwater reefy sorta lookin sharks at one of the aquarium shops recently. They were awesome.
  11. You cant possibly wanna take somethin that grows massive like that out of the ocean and keep as a pet? You would obviously need a set up near on the size of the melb aquarium for it to not be considered cruel. IMO putting one of those sharks in an aquarium would just be sentencing it to a slow death unless you wanna be filling it up with new saltwater every day or 2. There are thousands of other aquarium fish you could keep as pets that would be much easier and 99.9% of what we have here in aus is tank raised anyways(not sure on marines think some are still harvested from the wild). Seen a man
  12. Sunline super pe. Beautiful stuff and very well priced. I use and recomend 6lb,8,10 and 30lb love the stuff

    OUCH

Definitely a case of "OUCH" mate, was cringing whilst reading it. Those little jig head hooks and trebs are so bloody thin and sharp dont take much to fully embed one in ure hand. Good on ya for soldiering on snaps bet yas cleaned up too haha, take it easy
  14. Cant imagine it would be all that wise tryin to sink a tag into a big arse brozy or hammer while its thrashin round the deck. Or can the tags be put in while the fish is leashed besidse the boat?
  15. cant complain about that mate. Score
  16. Gulps do get more hits but im sick of 3/4 of every pack bein bent and outta shape plus they leak everywhere. Am considering just givin all my gulps to my brother coz im sick of the smell. In my opinion squidgies dont catch quite as many fish but the average size of fish on them is way better. Plus i dont believe there is a fish in the sea that wont eat a squidgy wriggler.
  17. Yes you def have to take it easy when getting a snag off with graphite rods. Awesome power when they are being bent they way they are meant but any unnatural movement will see them snapping like toothpicks. Maybe see if there is anything on youtube about de-snaggin lures as i dont know if id be able to explain the technique i use properly lol. Dont give up on these rods mate as once you get used to them you wont wanna ever use anythin else.
  18. I caught a 25cm congoli on an eco gear vx35 in the Port fishing with Weaver one arvo.Got the photo around somewhere,
  19. Crackin Sharks Az, well deserved for a hard workin fisho
  20. I got my old stradic 4000 on a $89 starlo stick(old blue one) and its a ripper of a rod for the price. Leethal has also given this rod a hammering in Darwin and it came up the goods. It is now my Mrs' rod as i Upgraded the combo last year but it will still be the only rod i take to Browns with me. Alsao if ya after something bit nicer and lighter check out the shimano jewels for $129. My bro picked one up last week and i must say its an awesome lookin rod.
  21. id be going with a 2500-3000 size reel and 6-8kg rod there are plenty of good quality options for 300 bucks. To finish it off the best quality 10-15lb braid you can afford. Head into ya local tackle store and tell em exactly what you want and your price range.
  22. Hey mate Im headin out from marion chasin em next weeken, been doing a fair bit of reading up and am gonna be takin just a range of 5 and 7 inch berkley jerk shads and some slugs.
  23. Saragosa will be fine, awesome budget reels
  24. Chinese from the little place just outside the fishermans wharf market. Tie the boat up and you can watch it while your waitin. It has rescued me and leethal planty of times lol. Cant go wrong
