Not a name of a piece of tackle but one that grieves me everytime I hear it.I 'slow rolled' my lure past the snag........translation....slowly wound it in. I reckon that's pretty wanky!

Hi, for those that are fishing the site known as the Cape Jaffa in the Gulf - I have compiled a video, telling the story of it.Built in 1951 in a back yard shed in Kingston SE, and sinking in 1973 - of the vicinity of Carrickalinga in some 27 metres of water - This short video tells of the boat's working life and ownerships. It provides a bit of insight of the vessel, and what you are fishing on.I hope you enjoy.Safe fishing on the water, and hope you all have a bumper season.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3fsjklwuZw

Sabre is legendary in the gamefishing scene . Sabre shut up shop sometime ago and the guy who has the recepie for the blends went to business and called them selves seeker or sabre seeker.Sabre changed gamefishing with there legendery sabre strokers and were the and my opinion still are the bees knees in fishing rods. Sabre particularly here in Sa aren't sold on the shelves these days as people don't buy custome quality rods anymore with the factory rods these days are pretty good value for money.U can still buy blanks and get them custom built if you are prepared to built a quality original rod that will last a life time. You can't compare a Sensor surf to a 540 Sabre the sabre wins hands down. The top game sticks in my opinion are Sabre , status and calstar.I have a few and would never part with them..And if you reckon there to heavy harden up haha.

Too me it feels like a decent bee sting, rubbing the wound on the belly seems to work, within 1/2hr the pain has gone. Good to know because my flatty fishing is about to ramp up again wading and now yakking the shallows up here. Hitting ya thumb with a hammer hurts way more!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from a little three day trip down to Port Vincent with a mate, we ventured around abit but fish were pretty scarce compared to summer which was somewhat expected. In all though got on to a few things and was some fun on some light gear! and enjoyed the scenery/weather. Heres a few clips I managed to get whilst fishing.

Fished the Yacht Squadron at outer Harbour last night for a bit of fun with the missus. Was hoping for a few tommies for a ray session.....but caught everything but :PEnded up catching a handful of near legal Bream, aswell as a couple of just legal models. Also managed a Garfish, some trumpeter, one tommy and even a small flathead (my third and biggest from this spot in almost three years fishing here)

I love superglue for added insurance! I use it when tying light braid to leader, I use it when I make wind on leaders (like the bought ones) made with dacron and nylon, and I often use it to coat my bimini twist on my gamefishing tackle, caught all manner of fish on these setups from small rubbish to big kings/sharks and the knot/connection has never let me down. Any superglue doubters, give it a go, it doesn't perish your line, just let it dry before it gets wound onto the spool! lol.

Woooooohoooooo! :woohoo: get pumped people... The ladies are shedding their layers :silly: the.footy finals are getting serious, the BREAM are stirring, the YFW are rising, the shitties are receiving orders ready for.their annual D DAY invasion of the estuaries, the snook are sharpening their fangs, the sharks are circling, the blooooody Mulloway are a schooooooooling and of course the Snapper are head butting the shit outta stuff ready to root and mung out on blue crab.Make no mistake ladies and gents, IT WILL SOON BE ON LIKE DONKEY KONG and I :c can't :c wait!!!!(okay, to answer your question, I too will be treking the shallows armed with surface lures targeting YELLOW FIN WHITING.... Im off to a sea run hotspot to finally go back over 40cm on a Bream... Oh yes, I will break 42cm this summer, oh yes. But most of all I will be smashing the Mulloway hard... Hard like..er well, ... I can't think of an appropriate metaphor, .. But hittin them buggers hard and with lighter gear than last season...... AND some big hard nutter SNAPPER while I rest)Summer boo yeah! They are definately a good livey for bream. Used to scoop them in a dab net from weed on marina pontoons as well as shrimp and both were good bait.

Most of the top 10, including the winner came from false bay north of whyalla on the mudbansk area, good natural bottom, with a couple of scattered drops too. Prime grazing country for big 30+lb fish. The muddies and Fairway produce smaller numers but big fish over the next couple of months. South has the odd big one but more numbers of fish, if you want to catch a keeper, i'd head south of town, a winner comes from north or nor east normally though.

For small ones like that try berleying with heaps of finely chopped pilly bits, downsize your tackle to 3kg or so and drift down unweighted pilly bits the size of your berley on about a size 4-6 octopus style hook. Finesse when they're finicky!
