Rain is great, all the fair weather fisherman stay at home and you can fish spots that you normally wouldn't when there are others on the water.Sometimes its a hard slog but its worth it

Measure your finger nail in the pic, then see how many times it goes the length of the snapper than measure the actual width of your nail and times it by how many times it fits in the photo, gives you a rough idea on its length

Totally agree Nanman, Try and order bait from overseas Next time your in a tackle store ask the guys whats the best price they can do? If they do not have a reel size in that you want but have others in the range your looking at ask them if they can get it in and again what price.Local guys will want the sale, will do everything to keep you happy so you come back.What $20 lures can you get for $5 in the US Plankton?

Buying overseas will soon see the local tackle guys gone, sure you save some dollars but at what cost?

at the end of the day it is a legal size fish and if it is kept for a feed who cares, no laws broken, this s@*ts me to tears , there is always someone that has to have a small dig! Why cant you just congratulate the girl on her catch and leave it at that!!! :angry:

I was looking through the latest posts and i thought i would add one form a couple of my photos from the storm in December 2010 taken at St Kilda, spent the whole day following that storm good times. I may add a couple more later while im not at work!!!!!

Corn flour, salt/pepper, shake in a bag then shake off access flour of the squid, on the bbq with very hot oil, about 30 sec each side. Should be a golden colour but doesn't have to be.

The powers that be should change the "save the murray' levy to a 'fish the murray' levy, theres very little decent freshwater fishing oportunities in the rest of the state so people shouldn't be expected to pay for nothing, I think the murray has been saved in the short term (not by the levy mind you).The moneys paid only by murray river fisherman could/should be put back 100% into stocking cod and improving facilities along the river.cheers

Have found green nippers on the flats near st kilda.At low tide just slosh around in the same spot stirring the bottom up till the water around you is mud.If there are any nippers around they will come to the surface where you can scoop them up with a mesh net.

Took my 3 year old out for session this week with the blessing from mum ( dont know how i manged it after the classic)I hooked it, he fought it to the net like a pro.It went 40 fork or 43 tip.Kids gonna be a pro in no time.
