Bit of a feed at least. In the right conditions you can get mulloway snapper sharks and kingfish.

IMHO without a doubt its Jaxsons. Two nice sized holes out the front, plus you aren't sharing with anyone else - unless of course people come along in quads. Its reasonably sheltered and only a quick slide down one small dune to the beach...Its the only beach our crew pulled Snapper from, and we've got plenty of big Mulloway and sharks from right in front of the campsite...

If its rough as guts fish off the little pontoon next to the boat ramp. A bit of berley and you'll clean up...

I've got carpet and I love it. Quick squirt down with the high pressure hose and a bit of suds everytime I get home and never have any issues!I have seen guys with fake grass instead of carpet - thats what I'll be doing next time!! Doesn't hold heat like carpet does!

Got this forwarded to me awhile ago and something I am definitely interested in, but the timing of the course is poor for me.Professional development and getting involved in the community is very high on my priorities at the moment, but the timing is just not good where work is heading at this point in time.

Before yesterday I would've said it would be a toss up between Callop on the Murray and Squidding anywhere. But after getting into the Mulloway yesterday my first choice of fishing now will be soaking pillies in the Coorong!!Mulloway have always been the holy grail for me, and catching them yesterday in numbers was a dream come true!!

I'm not too sure too many people fish IN the Mundoo Channel - a lot of guys launch there but then fish up around the mouth and down towards Tauwitcherie. You might be a chance down there, but check to see what gates are open on the barrages and if there are more than about 40 at Goolwa its not really worth the effort.Anything less and go for it - Mulloway, mullet, salmon trout plus the occasional redfin, flathead, Bream, etc.

I use Berkley Vanish as well, and find that it helps. Not sure about 9/10 squid you see wont touch a jag AFF - I find maybe only 1/10 won't touch them... Had a session off Brighton almost 2 years ago and we caught a boat limit and the last 30 were sitting in a big school on the bottom - we only saw them cause we drove over them and they were all angry buggers!! Not sure how big the school was but we stopped fishing once we got our 45 and didn't look like the school had got any smaller!

Launch at Wirrina.... If you fish around not too far from shore you should get plenty of squid.... Wirrina is just north of Second Valley... Maybe try some baits down from whiting as well....

@ Hugo - Parnka Point is just a bit of a channel - it's an access point to the surf beach - the cocklers use it. However I do know a guy who used to fish there by boat many moons ago and used to do well - I have always planned to put the boat in there but its always too windy when I stop there. If you head right and just find some deep holes - its where the pro netters get their mullet.Don't be afraid to try the mouth either - the salt water is under the fresh - fish right on the bottom - use a whiting like rig with the bottom hook below your sinker - and put some sinkers in your berley pot so it sits on the bottom. Don't be surprised if you catch some redfin as well. We did it awhile ago and fished with pilchard peices and prawns and got a nice feed of mullet and redfin - the biggest mullet was 36cm!

Oops just re read your post and it seems you might be landbased.... Not sure if you would be a chance landbased at Parnka but you never know - should be some locked in fish up there not wanting to swim through the freshwater.... The channel is pretty deep there in front of the boat ramp so you never know if you dropped a live bait in there at night time....

Agree jimbojames... I caught my first big Snapper in January this year, and to be honest it didn't feel like it fought all that well.... Was impressive to look at, but it seemed all to easy just going out on a charter at Arno Bay and getting it...AS for my first big Mulloway... we drove 12 hours, spent 3 straight days fishing and finally got one.... And it just ran and ran..... Much more satisfying in my book....

I can usualy tell the difference between a Snapper and a Mully.I find the Snapper head shakes have a distinct hard knock you can feel through the rod and mullies have more a smoother tug. In the surf the mullies don't shake their heads but the wack their heads against the bottom trying to disslodge the hooks.

Mulloway for sure..... I think if you want to go and catch a big Snapper its not that hard - may need to travel but book with a decent charter at Whyalla or Arno Bay and they'll more than likely put you onto one...As for Mulloway... the truly big ones take a lot of time, preparation and patience....

When I first used to go we just used a prawning light that I had from my Coorong floundering days and it worked okay, but I found that the beam wasn't very wide so could only really be used on one side of the boat or by one person - which was okay with two of us in the boat as one drove and held the light while the other dabbed....But I now have spotlights permanently mounted on the front of the tinny which do a much better job as it means the driver doesn't have to hold a light - and they can be easily turned up to look out for obstacles...Which is another tip - ALWAYS SUSS OUT YOUR SPOT IN DAYLIGHT FIRST.... Don't go dabbing in unfamilar territory as you can come unstuck - we have had to get out while dabbing a couple of times - once at Victor and once in the Coorong.... Yes you can dab Gar in the Coorong too - we did quite well in Mundoo Channel one night - but we only mucked around we weren't too serious as we just wanted a few live baits!

I got a box of them for Xmas... Haven't really used them apart from in the Coorong the other week - good for running rigs and when lighter than usual sinkers are required...

Yes you can just rock up and dig a hole - on the waters edge is the place to be..... Make sure they are over the size limit and don't take more than your 300...Be plenty left - they run right through summer....
