Every time the Government up a levy, tax and or add another cost to me, I just increase my hourly rate to cover it. Most of the RFL would go into admistration. :(By the way urhookfish, the reason you have knob is to stop your hand flying of and hitting you in the head. lol

Make a self actuating berly despenser, all you need is some pvc pipe an end cap, a screw cap, a couple of lead weights, some rope and a foam float a couple of stainless clips and a stainless ring bolted through the float and a small one for the lead .Drill heaps of holes in the pipe, glue a weight into the end cap and fit to the pipe, then drill a hole in the screw cap and thread through rope and attach it to a large lead using ring bolt through lead (circle shape)(melt led in tin a similar width to the pipe)inside so that the lead moves up and down inside the pipe, then just make links in the rope for the depths you'll be fishing and clip the float on.fill with burley and throw overboard and the float movement in the swell lifts and drops the lead crushing up and dispensing the burly slowly and consistently. Will try post a pick of mine later;)

maybe the voice should be heard, the only people i can hear wanting a rfl is the fresh water guys so maybe we get one for them and when the salt guys start asking for one give them one to let the voices be heard i say

I've already given my thoughts on it in a similar thread with Tony fairly recently, you all know my opposition to the idea for this state, so I feel no need to write it all out again. Here are links to other related discussions:http://www.strikehook.com/forum/5-general-fishing/26397-no-to-recreational-fishing-licenseshttp://www.strikehook.com/forum/5-general-fishing/10821-recreational-fishing-licence-for-sahttp://www.strikehook.com/forum/5-general-fishing/54206-make-of-it-what-you-willhttp://www.strikehook.com/forum/63-off-topic/61699-fishing-taxMaybe Tony could also provide a link to the last discussion he initiated on the subject, as I was unable to find it.If the rest of you wish to go over it all again though, well and good, but I don't want to hear of anyone claiming to represent "my voice" again while they air "their" views on how and why we need an RFL.

If you know anyone that regularly catches bream over 40cm on lure in there then i'd like to shake his hand,i've fished it for 3 years now and only have caught a handful of fish over 40cm in that time....What i have learnt is that they hate easterly winds, slow tides, clear water, sunny days, heavy leaders, noisy lures and blokes with fishing rods. For me though the difficuly of catching them is what i like about the place, anyone can go out and plonk a cockle over the side and catch a feed of whiting but big bream on lures in w/ls is something i will never master...well not for awhile yet anyway. cheers brenton

bought a new snorkle and goggle set... an underwater light, and a net...went wading for gar last week, and we got a few good size ones... mate had a snorkle and mask, and was next to me with them on, rippley surface that night , and the light just didnt do it from above the water , but mate had no trouble picking out the gar, and some huge blue crabs...so i bought an underwater light of my own, and goggle set.well. first time under, the snorkle leaks... coughing up salt water isnt much fun, and the goggles no matter what i tried kept fogging up...could spend limited time under water without a snorkle, but managed some killer gar and huge crabs....tell ya though.. underwater 100mtrs from shore, pitch black, and the light blows a globe is pretty scary... that was the end of that trip...now a purpose built underwater light, which has the globe fill up with muddy water and eventually blow just doesnt seem right for an underwater light...same as a leaking snorkle staright out of the bag, and foggy goggles....will save some penies and buy quality set rather than 40 doller jobs...

Had glass put in my mako's when I wore glasses. They are tough wearing, glass being far more resiliant to scratching than plastic. The trade off however is that they are also heavier. I ended up going back to the plastic crx lenses after a while. Now have a pair of "fish" sunnies that I won recently and am liking these more so than the Mako's. Both seem to have the same penetrating properties as each other

My 4 year old was playing my mates rod which he said he could pull it in as we were not catching anything poor little bugger struggled for around 45 mins trying to wind it in as we laughed and drank beer, saying he really is making a big job of this thinking it must of been the grapple sinker giving him curry then he started screaming i got a fish I got a fish only to find he had just pulled in a 75 cm shovel nosed shark, pretty goood effort we thought for a 4 year old

Well it has been a very very long time .So day after xmas winds blowing cooler than Xmas day.But I headed down to the lake anyway.Wind was blowing very strongly headed to the side of the lake with it at my back .Third cast and some tiny bream were jumping at my popper fly.I noticed that my newly tied fly matched the thrown out crayfish shells littering the lakes floor .Anyway that was it for that side of the lake.So I thought the wind would also be at my back on the other side .Well I was wrong .First cast on this side was a shocker .But suddenly I'm on and off of a small Bream.Next cast was a shocker again but I'm on and this small bream landed After that fish I continued on my way but that was it .Two hours in a wind that was getting worse and no more fish. But I'm on the board for this summer yippee

G'day All S&HersFYI...Was down at Westfield Marion today and wandered into Campbells Newsagency. Picked up a copy (the last!) of the above magazine for the princely sum of $4.95. It's a publication from the "Fishing Monthly Group", based in Queensland. Have since found that you can access it via the 'net at:http://www.fishingmonthly.com.au/ (It may chew up a bit of your monthly data allocation if you choose to download it, though.)Anyway it's a bit of heaven and soft po*n for confirmed tackle rats. just an idea i do fish for sharks land based sometimes and the biggest problem is people calling news to brag about it not smart in my opinion as it just creates un neccecary publicity!!! so if you catch a shark DONT call any form of media if you want to keep doing it! i know sometimes on lookers sometimes try but you need to convince them its in there best interests not to!!!Jamie
