Hi fellas. Here's a pic of my best metro mully caught just b4 I sold my cuddy cab a little while back. Over the 50lb mark. These fish don't come easy but magic can happen for those who persist. I just hope my new boat is lucky also. Cheers

I bought a Daiwa BG SW 3000 size as well on his recommendation. Sturdy little reel.

My mate has the new shimano t curve ian miller tk3g series. Very nice rods worth checking out. My mate is running the 10kg version but I think they have a couple lighter ones.

Consider the wilson venom spin range.

I have two venoms, a 5 ft 6 inch deep jig and a 6 ft 6 inch offshore. Both 2-5 PE. Obviously the spin range is lighter. I couldn't be happier with mine. Match them with my dogfight and expedition 5500.

Loomis do some nice 10lb to 20lb rods. I have one around the 6 and a half foot and they do the same rod in the 7 foot also.
I bought a 7ft black hole Amped 7ft snapper model recently which is great and also very cheap also rated to 20lb.
Great for plastics and also parabolic for straight up and down in the boat.

Dutchy, is your T-curve the 701 one piece? Great plastics rod. My only gripe is how easily damaged it is. Mine rarely leaves land anymore. The single foot guides dont tolerate rough treatment that happens with a full crew and gear gallore! Even sitting up in the rocket launcher, there's a few deep rub marks. Being a one piece adds to the problem. Got my first decent red on SP with it  so its a bit special .

Dylbaa, we've been lucky with the SP's when using the Saltwater Spin. The 'ol jig jig whip whip was all we had to do. No real technique. Would be a nice match with your Stella!!!

Hey mate looks delicious! I have some peeled cooked prawns in the freezer, do you think it'll still make a cracking meal with them?

As a retired chef (amongst other things), one of the most popular dishs on my menu was a simple sweet chilli prawn dish served on rice.

    So simple it's stupid!

In a frypan add a tub of cream, pinch of chicken stock powder, splash of white wine for the pan and a big slug for yourself, and a couple of good shakes out of the sweet chilli sauce bottle.
Bring to boil then let it reduce till thick and yummy.
Once ready use another frypan really hot, splash of olive oil, dob of butter then throw in shelled raw tiger prawns, flip the pan around a bit so they don't stick, turn once , don't overcook the buggers( you want to leave them a bit opaque in the middle, so they still have a nice crunch).
Rip them out of the pan, arrange on your cooked rice the way you like to cook it then pour some sauce over the prawns and sit down with a nice bottle of white wine and enjoy 👌
(Don't give exact measures as it's to your taste how much chilli heat you like)

If I had a function on for 250 people and this was an entree choice I would make around 200 and no complaints to be had.
Cooked for the Clare Gourmet weekend at Eldridge winery one year and served around 950 serves on the one day. People were queued up for a long way. (I ended up pretty pissed on Lee Eldridge's Blue ribbon Shiraz by day's end, and had a great time at the pub after 😂😂😂)

If it's quite close to the tip then just YouTube how to replace the top eyelet? All you'll need is a lighter and some hot glue, takes about 30 seconds mate

    You're making me weep, again...

I had thought about getting the Venom Death Adder re tipped, but probably wouldn't bother with the Dynamix. Need to look into who does that kind of thing and cost etc...

Re - tip the one that has "just" lost the tip , as said , a dab of hot gun glue, and a tip to suit ...

As for the other , you might be able to get away with repositioning the 2nd runner, and a new tip , but give that one to the experts ...

    Good luck
