Fishing Report comp - WildBait lures prize

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,It's about time we had a competition on Strike & Hook. We have 7 WildBait lures to give away as a prize to the best fishing report. The WildBait lures include:[ul] [li]Stalker 6 GT 2m[/li] [li]Stalker 5 VBG 1.5m[/li] [li]Minnow 7 BRT 2m[/li] [li]Minnow 5 RO 1.5m[/li] [li]Minnow 4 CC 1m[/li] [li]Attack 4 PC 1.5m[/li] [li]Attack 3 GF 1m[/li][/ul]WildBait-StrikeHook_2013-02-05.jpgWildBait lures are great for fresh water fishing in South Australia I've caught trout and reddies on them myself with others using them for cod, yellow belly, carp, bass, they've had great success in the salt too with bream and flatty's. The winner will also receive a lure box to keep the lures organised ;)You can check out the WildBait site at www.wildbait.com and like their Facebook page for heaps of fishy pics and updates > WildBait Facebook PageIf you read a great report please suggest it in this thread as a contender. Unfortunately the mods aren't eligible to enter. When we get to the end of the month 5 reports will be chosen as final contenders who will then be voted on by all of the forum members including mods. The competition will be open to reports posted from the 1st of February 2013 until the 28th of February 2013.There will also be a competition run on Facebook for another 7 lures and a lure box, you can enter both competitions but can only win once.Get out fishing and reporting, good luck :)

For me, a good report needs to be structured, with actual punctuation rather than one long paragraph/sentence. It has to have at least one picture. It has to share some information, and it has to be an entertaining read.I dunno if staff can nominate threads or not (I should've asked), but here's a couple I've read recently which I think worthy of consideration.....maybe members could choose to nominate if they consider them as good as I did:This first one blew me away! This is a great comp, but easy to forget imo...instead of having to nominate it here, there should be an icon that you activate when creating a thread that comes up something like the poll setup .The way its set up , dont know about anyone else , but until this most recent post came up I"d totally forgoten about it.

Agree on all counts.

be nice if such a comp did become a monthly thing, even if the rewards wheren't as handsome, it still encourages people to post quality. So based on the above, I'm thinking in terms of consistency and not just reports for this month (even tho they've both been good) but more so good contributions and on a regular basis, my nominees are Kelvin and 4thalove.Kelvin is consistently getting great captures, always has pix, always gives a few tips and hints and doesn't get all elite on us (even tho he has every right and many that catch much less do)He fishes a well fished area on a floating match stick and shares all his adventures with a wide audience.4thalaove, having only just finished building J Lo, he has already put up many a quality report, and his thread on the build up of his tub must be commended. There is a few others that contribute in a high quality fashion, but these are my 2 picks

me no capisce... shouldn't every1 be just picking 1 report?? surely it would make it easier when their putting together votes if they have one report from every1 instead of one person having 5 different reports up ??

Yer probably dude haha.I was just saying reports I thought could be worthy not really a vote.Understand what you mean bud.

It's right here :cSooooo, we nominate threads and then they get voted on via the poll. It's not rocket surgery.

Ok everyone, time is up for writing a fishing report to enter the Fishing report comp.I'll wait until after the weekend to setup a poll with the final fishing reports that can be voted on.I'm giving a few days for those who would like to suggest a report as the weekend is always the busiest time in the forum. You can still only suggest a report posted between the 1st February and the 28th of February 2013. :)
