Quick update Work has been stupid crazy and got a few personal things going on aswell. But will be getting back into the painting tonight and this weekend....
I am about to put a big order in for my YFW whiting topwater blanks aswell as several new different types of blanks getting ready for the opening up of the Ressies down south....

After a hospital appointment with my dad all good . I went into TW looking to buy a mat black double clutch. Ended up buying three lures they didn’t have any mat black double clutches I fell to one double clutch I’d be not buying everyone says they are good I’ll try it tomorrow. 
The one I’d like info on the Jackson one any one used this one .

Just received my 2019/20 Trout Season photo book, this time instead of making a two half yearly books I made a full season one of 134 pages..  I'm pretty happy with the end result..
Here's a few photos of the finished product.. Once again I waited until Snapfish had a 50% sale on that included extra pages.. The book is A4 size...

Well I just received a couple of special high quality hard body lures today and they certainly look great and beautifully finished..
They're a well presented brown trout lure that I'm sure will suck quite a few trout in next season.. I'm really looking forward to giving them a good workout in the rivers & streams here in Tassie..

Added the pattern onto some of them this morning. 
Stencils are the best thing ever to add another dimension to lures... added 3 different stencils to 3 different baits... 
Just needs sealant then clear coat Nd eyes and they are ready to smash PBs 😎😎



The middle one is my favourite out of the lot!

I hit up Southport beach yesterday with a mate for 1 ST in about 4 hours 🤣 it was busy but not too packed. I only saw a few ST's caught down there.
On the walk back a die hard fisho said they emptied Mt Bold reservoir which could have been the cause of the slow day. I just checked on that and it seems that they drained it a month ago.

So update on Softys Callop Lures. 
After i had applied the base coat of Yellow i added pearl orange to the sides of the lure....
 

 
I then added Pearl Pineapple to the belly to give the yellow a little more pop!
Then i added an colour called Detail Sepia which is an dark brown. I added it to the top of the bait


 
I have now used an transparent sealer over the top of the bait so i can add the stencil pattern tomorrow. The sealent is just a safe guard when using stencils that it doesn't scratch or damage the paint... 
So tomorrow the pattern is gonig to go onto the lure then from there it will just need eyes and completed. 
I also have done two different Purple colours that i will be inverting the 2 purples on each of the baits with a criss cross pattern. Hard to explain but will show once finished.... 




 
Both purple baits will be finished with black backs and black around the eyes.
 
If you think there are other colour combinations you'd like to see be sure to let me know i still have another 15 of these blanks and i also have plenty of colours to choose from

Was 5 of us out on the kayaks today for 3 fish between us. Crap day but thankfully I got one of them going 44cm.

I use 80 pound leader to 30 or 50 pound braid, and have had a devil of a time with knots. Knots failing (even when glued) and knots catching in guides. With my terminal gear, the "Slim Beauty" turns out as a "Nylon Nightmare". Sure, it is easy to tie at sea, and holds well, but boy, oy boy does it ever jam up in the tip and other guides. 
There is no doubt of the multiple benefits of the FG knot for such heavy terminal tackle, but blowed if I could remember it, and I seemed to need another hand (at least). There must be jigs out there on Google? 
Sure is, and the easiest to use and cheapest to buy is actually an Aussie backyarder by the name of "FG Wizz". 
Watching his "how to use" pitch, I was struck that, hey!!, the bobbins he uses look like the washers on my "Laserlite" fasteners from the deck renos, and also that the flexible rods look like pieces of tent pole or old fishing rod.
Hmmmmm, I reckoned I had "the makings" in my shed. Scrounged or saved because "they will come in useful one day".
Tonight, in isolation like everyone else, with the ABC broadcasting nothing but Coronavirus dilemmas followed by Amazonian destruction on 4 corners. What to do? 
Well, I made myself a copy of the "FG Wizz". Once the glue sets, I will be tying FG's like a pro I reckon.........
I figure that such a copy might be somehow illegal, but some of you might choose to buy one instead -- so this is free advertising I reckon. The bits and pieces I used are shown here, but comprise only the cup washers from Laserlite screws, stainless flatheads with washer and nut, a piece of broken tent-pole, wall plugs, and a hardwood offcut. This was all I could drum up, but it looks the goods.
