I have been having some great sessions on St's and hard body lures of late but none compare to last weekend when I took my girl for a fish. Not only did she out fish me and my brother inlaw but on more than one occasion she got two fish on the one lure. Yep a fish on both trebles. Ok I realize st's will attack anything when in a frenzy but the look on her face when she pulled them up is perfect.

Always have a squid jig handy when fishing. You never know when one will show up.I fish a lot with unweighted half pilchards, and quite often a squid will grab it on the sink. A slow wind in with constant pressure will get it in close. Drop a jig down, pull out the pilchard, and bang one hooked squid. They get a taste of fish and will smash any jig you put in front of them.Sometimes one will follow a hooked fish up, and you can do the same. Also handy to have a teaser tommie under a float to help attract squid.Cook hot and fast with chilli, garlic, lime juice for a tasty meal.Great crumbed, battered, or just floured and fried.Very tasty if baked whole in tubes, stuffed with anything really.Yum

Hi Hallows. We were out there this morning. Son(11yrs) got his first snook(58cm), and some salmon trout. Snook on a flick bait soft plastic, and the ST on pilchard pieces.I normally fish half pilchards unweighted or with a small ball sinker. And flick soft plastics.Try to fish either side of the tide changes. Be careful cos the end rocks go under water on tides over 2m. Plenty of seaweed to contend with, but well worth it when you catch some crackers like we did last year.

I've always done well at Renmark for Callop, Silvers, and catties. Near Lock 5.Find the shrimp, and catch the fish.Fish structure/snags, and where the water eddies back on it's self.Good luck.

Some seem to have very dark stripes while other have very light stripes. Whether it is a colour variation or mood of the fish i don't know.I guess habitat plays a role but some does their mood(stressed etc).I do love the ones with very dark markings though. The fish in your pic looks a bit sick?

I love all types of fishing. Jetty, boat, yak, rocks, beach, river, impoundments. Lure and bait, haven't got into fly yet, but been thinking about it for a while. What makes it even more enjoyable, is taking my son with me and passing the knowledge i have accumulated over the years. Teaching him proper fish handling, catch and release, and the like. We love our lure fishing in dams for natives and redfin. He has been outfishing me for a few years now!!! Many more pics of fish he has caught, but i don't want him to get a big head.

My biggest cod so far was caught last week in a SAFWAA Dam. She measured in at 72.5cm, didn't weigh her unfortunately, but would have been around 15lb or so.Just love the awesomeness of these iconic Australian fish. Now to catch one out of the Murray.

Have a flick off the boat ramp breakwall. The one on the left, right up the end. Some nice Salmon Trout around. Got a couple yesterday morning on my way through to Whyalla. Using small HBs and SPs.Also hooked what i believe may have been a small kingie a little while back. Spat the lure after an 8min fight.YFW off the Jetty. Have heard of some kingies hanging around the moored boats at the Jetty.Good luck and let us know how you go.

Fantastic Photos as always Nev.You should have been on the rocks tonight mate, I thought you'd be there with all the wind.Ended up landing my biggest snapper off the stones tonight. Went 80cm and 5kg.I tried my normal spot for a couple of hours for nothing. Wind was annoying, right in ya face. I was going to call it quits, but decided to try a new spot. Glad i did. First just a panny, at 40cm, then dropped a decent snapper. Almost out of bait, so i chucked on a piece of squid and started to pack up. Drag started to scream, after a few tense moments and some great runs, i finally landed it.So stoked to get my biggest stones caught snapper.YAY!!!!Might see you next week Nev.A couple of guys near me landed 3 pannies.Cheers.Sam
