  2. I've only found the actual rock once or twice myself but i've caught a couple of 10 kilo fish from the rough bottom around it so if you find that the actual rock is not far away. cheers brenton
  3. mmm well you live and learn i thought the worms might not start to run until tonight. Not my favorite bait though cheers brenton
  4. I've heard the estuary charter at Douglas is a bit of a dud. cheers brenton

  6. the same bloke has been fined for taking undersize mully from the other creeks a few years back,i guess the fine doesn't outway the profits. cheers brenton
  7. Samaki 9 fters are on sale at the SFS cavan atm,i just bought one yesterday as a matter of fact.I paired it with a Daiwa 3000 Caldia. Its light, perfectly balanced and rated 8-20lb cheers brenton
  8. sunline super for me on all my light lure casting reels, don't mind the suffix 832 either as it breaks well above the rating but doesn't cast quite as well so i use it in the heavier classes. cheers brenton
  9. I'd agree,in the shallows i find the fish skittish and think they prefer to grab a bait and run where out deep they are quite happy to sit there and have a chew.Sometimes i'll even pull off a bit of line by hand to get it started so they feel minimal resistance. This is pretty important off metro. cheers brenton
  10. Im the same but i do use the B/R in the shallows. cheers brenton
  11. Have a look at the shimano terez rod range http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/rods/saltwater/terez.html made for using with power pro cheers brenton
  12. Yep and has been fishing OK,as sambo said it goes off during storms but a mates brother fishes it every day(twice) and has been doing well most days cheers brenton
  13. I wouldn't go the 1000 myself, the 2500 are so light that they match up well with light rods and line comes off the spool a little better with the 2500 when casting. cheers brenton
  14. There is so much good stuff on the market that the world is your oyster,I like the Rapala Tspec,Samaki have some good stuff and the Daiwa black label are pearlers as well.Match one of these with a Shimano ci4 or a Daiwa Caldia depending on balance and personal tastes and your away.Saying all that i fish Placcies and Hbs very differently so i prefer a combo for each styleI'd be picking out a few combos and getting your mate to make the final choice as its different strokes for different blokes. cheers brenton
  15. Any paddletails, flickbaits, shads and give yourself 30 hours casting during good moon phases and you'll get one.Pumpkinseed during the day and something with a bit of flash at night.....it mostly about the lure pulse and putting in the time though cheers brenton
  16. I'll be interested to see what comes up,kind of interested myself though i 'm not sure why i want to make it harder than it already is. cheers brenton
  17. I don't care what it weighed, its a bloody stonker.Congrats to the lucky angler. cheers brenton
  18. I do prefer the Vamp to the Zing in that range buts its 10 bucks over your budget. cheers brenton
  19. I like both for different applications,if i need to put the brakes on quickly or using S/Ps and vibes i go the 6.0,for slow rolling or large bibbed lures i prefer 4.7. cheers brenton
  20. stick with the 2500 SS and i'm a fan of the stiffer rods on bream as well.I've never owned a Tcurve because i didn't like the feel of them in the shop. cheers brenton
  21. I have 2 Celilo Tournaments 2-4kg,they are very good and i use them all the time.Be wary buying a Celilo off the net tough because some of the models are chalk and cheese. If your spending around 100 bucks the dropshots are also pretty good cheers brenton
  22. Were you wading in the water because it looks like a land based capture and is that the marina at WB? cheers brenton
  23. Squirt worms and small clickers. cheers brenton
