yabbies can damage a dam if it is made using a clay base and is above the surrounding area but if "as this dam looks to be in a natural depression" the water is already at its lowest point.if you get my drift.

full moons aren't my favorite, imo "some" fish will fed over the 24 instead of cramming their feeding periods into daylight.

fg is easy takes about 1-2 minutes in the field and is the best no question, love the sunline pe used it for years but they have ceased making it in white which is a pity. however i find vanish to be crap when compared to other fluro, i use Fammel Rock Fish after trying most of the others.

they can live for a bit as well maybe 4-5 days.

you'll need a long fluro leader and no swivel for both applications, slow is the go lift and take up the slack.

they do look delish D,i tend to fillet them just so i can scoff them without interruption from bones etc
what you are doing there is really a smoke/cook because to smoke them like you would buy in the shops would take about 5-6 hrs in a warm smoker. Not meaning to be critical i'm sure they will be tasty.

The brine mix i use is keep adding salt until you can float a uncooked egg.The time required depends on the size of the fillets but overnight would be from a big salmon say 6lb down to a couple of hrs for fillets from 25cm salmon trout. The most important thing is that you let your fillets dry before putting them in the smoker because they won't take smoke until they are dry.

great reels i have 1 as well as most of the previous Stradics ,they would handle all with ease but my only consideration would be do you want a 6:1 reel for spinning.I tend to use a lower ratio(daiwa) for spinning as there is quite a static load on the reels when spinning.
