If there is one thing that i love more than fishing is surfing. Headed down to cliffs first thing this morning with family, had a surf for a few hours. put the board in the car.got out the esky, got our quota in half an hour. Off to the bakery for a feed and home. Bagged the cockles up. Fuel $20. Saving on Cockles $150 ish. Have to be happy with that.

Dragged myself out of bed for an early start heading out from North Haven chasing the red fish and managed to find them fairly easily for a change. Pulled one at around a 3kg fish and a couple of pannies form the first spot, then moved and got 3 big ones and a few more pannies. We were back in by 10 and the weather was nice so made for a good morning session. Made up for the last couple of trips of nothing much going on.

Lately I've been putting the burley pot over the bow or even down the anchor rope to try & get the buggers up front and away from the baits. Seemed to work last trip but can't guarantee it every time CheersWahoo

Hi all,Finally got out in the boat today, launched from st kilda ended up with about 2 dozen good size tommies, 10 crabs and a couple of whiting. The crabs still seem hard to find. there seems to be a lot of salmon trout around is this normal? had a school of them come to the back of the boat all just undersize. Was a nice to get back out there and have some me time.Cheers Fisho

finaly got the tinny out today and couldnt of been a better day for it. but fishing wise i didnt have alot of luck, i droped 3 squid and dropd a big cuttlefish but droped the jag back down and he took it again. was hoping for a good half bag of gar but they came when i first started the burley then didnt see them for the rest of the day...also did abit of trolling tryin to see if i could get some fresh snook for shark bait but didnt see any either. and to top things off i started cruising off from 1 spot with the anchor still down :pinch: :pinch:

I use two, twenty litre buckets. One with holes drilled in it for my burley pot, the other for freezing my burley mix. Once the frozen burley block slides out for use, it fits perfectly in the other bucket. For more flavour i use cheap black and gold cat food, the pilchard, tuna or sea food basket variety. Too good to feed your cat with. The snapper love it that much they come up purring

Yours are bungum worms' date=' mine are sandworm/centipede worm initially collected from a protected area (a ministerial exemption permit was granted).Common names cause problems the world over. Yours in the photo are [i']Australonuphis[/i] mine are Perinereis but both are segmented marine worms (Annelida) so they are in the same family but different genus.Local anglers used to use my worm (they showed me where to get them) but I don't think they were ever commercially available whereas bungums are.Hope that helps (a bit)

Not really feasible in South Australia as you can only use 3 hooks on a line and it is a hassle to set. Plus we don't get favourable wind conditions often. Works in NZ as multi hook longlines are legal, then get offshore winds and beaches with nearby reef holding snapper.

Went down the local haunt in the Mully Magnet . Caught enough bait for a good sesh . Had to wait a bit for the tide to do it's thing . Had three runs , hooked up to the first but when i got the fish close to the MM the hooks pulled and the sinker jumped out the water an landed next to me . Second run was a decent fish but when i went to set the hooks the bait came back whole . Third run i had a decent hook up and landed a nice schoolie 49cm , tagged then released it back . Was happy with one and it was getting late so packed up and went home .

this blank was primally designed to cast lures (only 4 wraps of glass) with 8 to 10kg line & lures weighing up to 75gms my recommended rod would be a 8144 this has 8 wraps of glass & will handle up to 15kg line large baits & heavy sinkers alot better.

Well. ive been lazy. but heres some reports :)FIshed ards for opening day of the season. things started of slowly at ground one.then after that shocking effort. kgw on 5/0s shouldnt happen. we moved to ground two.andthat was the end of that day. the next day we went to the bhp jetty cause it was a bit rough and anchored up outside it where the ship parks. mate having told the boss he wasnt coming in decided it was funny if we fished for the cameras up there.both fishing fairly light 4lb braid and leader we managed some of these.and thesethat was it for that trip :)next trip was out north. into the unknown for our first snapper trip of the year. and low and behold we struck red. three times. i caught a 8kg. which was not fotod. im not sure why as its my pb metro red. and a 6kg. fotod and the anchor boy....my gfs dad who owns the boat got a nice 5kg and 2 port jackson hehe.we had a trip to the same place where we caught 4 to 48cms. all tasted extremeley good.Next up we where out of the cape jervios chasing tuna for 5 hours of petrol wasting excitment. ont a single hit. ahwell. back to some grounds we found trawling for a bottom bash on the drift. the old boys used bait while the young lads. yup including me. used lures.first legal lure snapper 75cm we also picked up another 56cm snapper at the grounds. then back towards home and wirrina we picked up 5 44-47cm kgw. and whilst guttin and scaling the fish nailed a lazy 22 squid. was a good lil trip :)well thats my fishing for the past two months. hope it doesnt take to long to read :Dcheers grego.

We recommend these rods to people in our club (gawler Angling Club) for thier first Beach rod. they are pretty forgiving and you can target a variety of species. can be sued from the rocks casting big flaots as well. i still have my original wilson 4120 and also an extended rodworks 6120 that i could pull a truck with (figure of speach i wouldnt actually try, i love this rod)The difference between the 4120 and 5120 is load rating and number of fibre glass wraps.i use my 4120 with a 4500b baitrunner. 20lb powerpro braid.
