Evening ppl, I talked to a marine biologist some time ago (years) about this problem & the fact that grounds in the Gawler area that I have fished for over 50 years are now almost barren/desolate & was told that there is a 14 square kilometre area with almost total loss of sea-grass in the vicinity of the Bolivar sewerage outlet. On top of this you have all the caravan parks on the peninsula pumping untreated liquid sewerage into the gulfs, which has turned a lot of the areas I used to fish/dive into bog/quicksand due to nutrient (nitrogen/phosphorous) overload. Marine park was rejected in the metro area as it was deemed too far gone to even bother trying to save it, so why aren`t these clowns spending tax dollars in a responsible manner & fixing it, they seem to have money($180k) to do departmental studies on office chairs when it suits them. Marine parks are about "green" preferences & the Rudd/Gillard mob selling us out to gain/hold onto power for their own gains/agendas, & I hope they are going to get whacked with a big stick at the upcoming election. Cheers.

Lee is the best presenter I have seen, very down to earth.The thing with the other hosts, I think it comes down to personalities. They need to be a bit showy and do "Funny" Things as when Paul Worsteling was at the boat show he said something like "70% of our viewers don't fish".I think because they have to be "Show Ponys" once you have seen the same Tail wave or the phrase "Wrong Town" over 10 times, it's terrible.

Hey pearla, I have a mark out at the ballast: S33 57 806 E137 25 199 it may not be the mark you had as the ballast is a big area, not just 1 mark. I usually use this mark as a start and just sound around until I find suitable structure. hope that helpssnapdragin

There hasnt been a quick trip report for ages so heres one.... Went out today With Leigh chasing ST's and possible squid down the stones at Hallet Cove this arvo.. Got out there and the water was flat. Threw some burley out and we had fish everywhere... spent 2 and a half hours catching and releasing BIG tommies and legal Trouties with a few small ones mixed in... was an awesome arvo and was good to be out on the water..Between us we got 30-40 fish and probably dropped just as many...They were taking all sorts of lures and plastics... So if your needing bait or even a feed get down there... You would easily bag out if using bait but whats the fun in that...

All I can say is Yippee!My fav presenter Lee Rayner finally getting acknowledged.If they can take the basis of Adventure bound i.e. A lot of advanced technical stuff, being sponsored but not in your face about it and do some legitimate every day fishing like they have previously done.I see a big future. Adventure Bound format + HD Quality + Lee Rayner = Sounds good to TT!

Amazing that DEWNR are prepared to invest years in the introduction of marine parks but do little to nothing reverse the trend in declining condition of reed beds and minor drainage channels throughout the southern area. one only needs to look at the poplar growth at reed beds near Moana, weed infestations along other at Maslins, Pt Willy that outcompete native species and contribute to nutrient increases. If not for community groups, onka council efforts along Christie Creek and some landowners, storm water run off areas would be left for dead reducing the ability of these reed beds to naturally filter runoff. how about some real action on storm water management before wasting precious funding on something that may not help benthic ecology in any way otherwise.

HAHAHA the komodo has performed well squidding for 3 days, def put it thru its paces on those line burning squid lol, best be getting myself down to DF to grab a couple
