  1. corny point camp out beer, kayak, hopefully it all equals KGW, big flatties and sum squid if not
  2. wilsons are loved for a good reason there tough as any 4 wrap or 5 wrap in 120in or 144in you will be set for a very long time and should have no trouble landing any of you target fish, check out the supergraph heavy surf as well its a fantasic rod heaps of grunt and a sensitve tip. I have also been looking at some of the live fiber surf rods latley 10ft mostly there light as with plenty of power as well just hard sneaking another rod past the misses. if you want to throw lures for salmon id suggest sumthing around 9ft these are great surf casting rods i have a 9ft jewel with a 5000 stradic it
  3. Be over in july. I seriously can not wait to get over there had a my best fishing trip ever last year getting stuck in to those locks well salmon cast after cast after cast and the monster tommies off the jetty.
  4. I have a stradic 5000fi with 15lb braid on a 9ft jewel for throwing metals couldn't fault it is one of my favourite combos and has landed sum big salmon in big surf has been dormant for while and I'm getting the itch to use again, can't comment on the exceller.
  5. Carrying 3 2kg salmon, a 5kg salmon, two rods a bucket n loads on tackle up the steps at locks well. Also the 5kg salmon I caught down there.
  6. well done mate, got my first not long ago wasn't a huge one but it keeps getting bigger every day that goes by
  7. I have a 1500 put it on a 1-3kg pfluger president running 5lb braid I think its quite a nice reel,I would say its not as refined as a shimano or diawa is a Lil bit heavy for that size reel and the 6kg of drag is a Lil over kill the drag also feels a bit tight before it starts to slip but is very smooth when hooked up to a running fish that's about all I could fault with it and that's being picky.I have landed my pb westlakes bream on it at 35cm went for a good run and handled it great also hooked a not quite 1kg salmon down sellicks that went for huge runs had no dramas landing this either and
  8. I have a couple of Wilson's 1 is a fsu5120 supergraph this is an awsum rod I've matched it to a shimano ultegra xtb fantastic reel tho yet to really test it out on sumthing big, also have a 13"6 Wilson seacoaster im not a fan of this rod as its very sloppy and hard to fish with big baits and hard to control fish once hooked its also to large and heavy to fish with light line n a small reel so I'm planning on upgrading to a new snyderglas for this winter and would like to match it with one off the new spinfisher v reels
  9. Mate that's a cracker of a fish on light gear well done
  10. Shimano jewel 902 $99 ray n Anne's, I have 1 with a 5000 stradic fantastic rods

  14. When it was on fox always enjoyed watching fishing WA, always made me wanna head over there to check out the fishing at places like exmouth, the abrolhos and mackrel islands, the kimberly, catching a bull shark in the fitzroy seems like a fun day out 2.
  15. Favourite would be river monsters some interesting fresh water fish out there in them big rivers enjoy it mainly because its different to all the others shows out there
  16. Have a 5000FI stradic on my 902 jewel is a very good reel, smooth as and casts well over 100m. I would go the stradic 5000FJ excellent value for money reel.
  17. 2kg salmon from any one of the local beaches, and hopefully a 4kg+ salmon whilst over elliston way in july
  18. I fish this area alot nearly evry sunday for countless number of years as do many other people lots of people also use the area to walk and ride the trails surely access to the river will still be available via saurbiers rd once the rail line is complete.
  19. Have been looking at rods in this class for a fresh water combo (just an excuse to buy another rod really) had my eye on a pfluger trion 7' 1-3kg or a berkley dropshot 7' 1-3kg.@ Banga you are starting to convince me now with the amount of posts that u plug them samaki's i have to go sus the zing 6'10" 2-6lb it caught my eye.
  20. I am hopefully going on my 1st charter out of Marion bay later in the year I would also like to organise a few out linclon and coffins would hope to chase anything big from Snapper Kingies SBT and sampsons this is the main reason I looked at this combo with 300+ meters of 30lb braid it should stop anything this state can throw at me, and I want to use it for mullys around the local area, have been saving for a long time to get this and got more saving to do so lets hope the fishing in the end will be worth the wait.
  21. My most used combo is a bcf cheapy shimano sss 702 2-4kg with a sedona 2500fd and 8lb mono is my take any where bait rod and have caught sum nice bream and a couple of small onka schoolies on it.my favourite combo atm is my jewel 701 1-4kg with a stradic 2500fi and 8lb power pro luv this rod was my first decently expensive out fit, soon to be knocked of the mantel tho have just bought a texalium 7'6" 6-10kg and plan on putting either a 5000 or 6000 sustain fg on it got 2 save the pennys first.
