    The weekend is looking quite good with winds dropping off by mid-morning Saturday and staying that way on Sunday as well. Most people will be aware of the new size and bag limits for recreational anglers coming in force on December 1 2016. So November is the time to get out there and get a good feed before they come into place. While most of the limits are reasonable the King George Whiting got hit yet again and is unacceptable that recreational anglers have to take this hit again while our professional counterparts take no hit other than the closure in May. These changes will come around and bite them as due to the size increase there will be more people fishing the bigger fish grounds than ever before.

    The last couple of weeks have been awesome, not in sales but the amount of people coming in with their kids to have a go. I may be old but it is great to see kids enthused again. Great to see!!! While Saturday is looking to be high winds it does drop off very quickly for Sunday and there is nothing better than a blow to get the fish active again, especially with good tides.

    Spring is not that far away and it looks like we are going to get a taste of it this weekend. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday look like cracker days to get out for a fish. With the new moon on Saturday, Wednesday will be the final run of the bloodworms so if you want to get out and top up on worms then Wednesday night should be the go (Weather permitting).

    Metro has whiting still out from the West Beach area plus there are some out on the North West ground and out from Grange Tyre Reef. Plenty of crabs around locally from West Beach right upto St Kilda (Going to be a great season again). Snapper have been caught out wide North West of North Haven and the odd rugger out near the Ballast and near the barge out from O'Sullavan's and even some out from Wirrina. Port River still has salmon trout and a few school mulloway around the northarm and towards the sub base. Bream are in the upper reaches. Some small snapper are still being caught at night on the outer harbor breakwater. North Haven breakwater has salmon trout.

    Light winds are predicted for the weekend so people chasing tuna should have perfect weather. Remember to always get an update on the weather just before you go. We had smooth seas early morning on Monday but blew up to over 25 knots while hooked up to 2 fish due to a tropical low pressure. Got a bit lumpy but managed to get both fish in eventually.
