Meppstas reacted to baldy in Livebaiting Port and West Lakes
I wouldnt personally use bream as live bait, they are not much good. If I were you Id be looking at trying to catch some trumpeters, mullet or gar. These fish are much better live bait! Haven't really got many runs in the port river but in the lake it doesnt really matter where you fish as mullies are located all around the lake. We have had runs before from many different locations, just have to get out there and give it a shot!Cheersbaldy

Meppstas reacted to piratepom in R.I.P. Bream rods.
It has taken me a few weeks of mourning to post this pic'!
I managed to snap the tips off both my bream rods, a Venom Death Adder and a Dynamix Bream, which were in the car on a fairly recent road trip to Marion Bay. Depressingly all my own fault!
R.I.P. my friends.

Meppstas got a reaction from Moggy23 in Tasmanian Fungi...
On my walk back to the car yesterday after a spin session in the Meander River (report to come soon) I came across a couple of Fungi something I love taking photos of.
The bottom photo of the fungi was taken on the side of a steep hill I had to crawl up to get back from the river up to the roadway before getting back to the car at the end of my fishing session..
cheers

With two months still to go before the trout season opens I go for walks in the rain forests looking for & photographing the variety of Fungi that grows in them. They only last a few days so it's a matter of being there at the right time.. Here's a few photos that I took last week....

Meppstas got a reaction from bjorn2fish in Moon setting in morning fog..
Took this photo this morning, didn't come out all that good as I only used my small Canon camera that I use for trout fishing..
Didn't have time to grab my good camera and set it up as the moon was setting too fast at the time.. May get up early tomorrow and see what it's like.
Cheers

Meppstas got a reaction from Panga in Razorfish Tongs
They're beautiful eating that's for sure.. lovely pickled.. a bloke used to come into the Royal Arms Hotel selling them by the jar for $5-00, I'm going back quite a few years now though..
I had a set of long handled tongs and used them when out in the boat, very useful item that's for sure.
cheers
