Had a visitor only two hours ago to the boat. Big bugger, close to 2 m long.
 
 

i do love pickled seafoods.. tommie fillets and gar fillets where a favourite for us as kids.  scallops/razor fish.. hmmmm 
 
my step father always used a spiced vinegar mix,  think he actually bought it. then topped it up with a few extras such as chilli and garlic.. 
 
the good thing about food is.. we all like different flavours so its just a world of experiments!

ive heard plenty of stuff over the years.. and now i live so much closer to some of these spots  ive heard off.. i do hope i get a chance at some  land based fish this year!

yeah all my family live in Lincoln still,  used to take Softy down for a few trips.. drink.. fish.. get bogged.. fall of motor bikes...  repeat...

bucket of hot lead.. and a heap of old kitchen spoons.. make home made spoon sinkers.  used them down at whyalla  for many trips.. 

beautiful!!! ummm vintage reels ARE worth quite a bit. im unsure of prices etc.. but Def worth a look!

i was on  KI wednesday and thursday..  but driving the tour bus.. so no fishing..  done well mate!

it happens a lot with many fish... even snapper.. the smaller fish are much tastier

caught a couple that day.. but this was certainly the biggest. swallowed the hook so it came home for dinner.

yeah especially on a pencil float with 8lb mono off the rocks.. and quite a ledge to lift it up.. i climbed down and tried to swing it up onto a semi submerged rock.. then  snapped the line.  ended up grabbed  her by my bare hands and throwing her up on the rocks.   luckily didint get spiked.  
she put up a pretty decent fight thats for sure!

i love a good laksa..   always found making t at home to be quite expensive  but this seems pretty cheap!
