  1. What line do you use, techniques & what are you chasing? I like my t-curve certate 3500hd combo just catches fish so nice to use
  2. Could probably order new tip $$$ Or Clean up the break heat glue in the tip Re glue tip onto your new boat rod😅
  3. Really hard to say as so dependent on your boat lots of trying angles BEFORE cutting holes...
  4. I have found tuna jumping onto any lures but I have had some very very frustrating trips where only 1 lure worked Shame I lost both of those lures after lots of hits, a few hook ups & didn't land a fish
  5. Salt water is a killer isn't it Rod always something that needs maintainance on a boat. I have been trying to check and rustproof every electrical conection and metal part of my boat😥 Bratko the 3500 hd is an awesome reel enjoy. Got myself a new outfit for my birthday😆
  6. It would be great to know what frequency they actually do see in different light conditions! As the 3 large lures look similar under uv but completely different in normal light Rod you never know...
  7. I finally got around to rigging for a tuna trip Took a few photos First is with shed light second UV only Last both The mono on that reel looks amazing with UV lol might change that... The squid jags and lures glow nicely as well The small skirts are on 80 fluorocarbon but had trouble keeping rig straight during crimping. When tested to destruction the crimp slipped chaffed the line rather than just breaking line😬 I found the 150, 200lb jinkai so much easier to use Now I need to do my favorite hard bodies and service reels I have been trying to get ready for last few months but sick, family
  8. Glad you ok now poppa I'm still waiting to get my boat back after warranty repairs I have been so sick my man flu (as misses calls it) has given me a black eye I'm glad I don't have boat as misses is away with the kids I would go tuna fishing anyway
  9. Great photo it is just a pleasure to fish in those conditions
  10. I use the same hooks on my lures. Single hooks are harder for fish to dislodge You may miss some hits not having 6 hooks but I think less dropped fish I missed 6 good tommies on tues on new tiny sharp trebles just spat hooks on way in:angry: will be replacing with singles Be aware that hook sizes & change of drag in water may effect the swimming action A trick I learnt with tuna lures is to only put a hook on the belly to increase action Or only on the tail facing up for weedless for flathead etc I have caught 4 tuna in one day on 70 mm yozuri mag minnow replacing the single hook each tim

I went on blackout charter didn't catch much, but had fun. Take you own reel as I didn't like counting the joins in the line to see how deep lol I would take a pack of small hooks 2/0 etc for live bait. Something big would destroy me every time I hooked a bait fish but using BIG old J hooks hard to hook pickers. Wanted to skull drag a bait fish up and slowly lower it down to have a chance on the monsters. I wish I took just a bit of gear, few rigs, jigs & lures could have been a trip to remember
  12. They look delicious Panga I buy oysters in bulk got 75 doz last time Smoked oysters are amazing but so much work I rarely cook them as once shucked they vaporize
  13. Sorry for smart are reply sunofbeach Storing crabs isn't a problem for me. I clean crabs by removing main shell to leave only legs n meat then cook for shorter time less smell no mess less room in fridge
  14. I like to store them in my stomach washed down with cold beer
  15. add crabs to your list while your there. Could head north for a session on the mud flats flatties, yfw crabs etc if the crowds get to you on the jetty
  16. Took the family out on sat got a good mixed bag with 9 squid looking to do cajan gumbo with crab squid fish etc
  17. What time do you want me round panga? What is the difference with the wasabi's? FRESH TUNA I haven't caught a tuna since august Should only be a few weeks now
  18. Chile mojo has a fantastic range love the Pappys hot sauce for steak on charcoal gives great flavour without setting fire to my are hair next day
  19. Recycling yards pay $5 battery Lead pay $1.25kg buy $3kg? & you can pick out the nice clean pieces like dive weights so much easier to make sinkers with I have the 3× star surf mould, 4× tear drop swivel my favorite & 4× snapper & all the gear I could be talked into a sinker day as I nearly out of whiting size I spent last sat afternoon munching chest freezer of burly logs I wanted to do sinkers but not in the rain
  20. Thanks TheBerg shame ticket sales have closed & it starts in 3/4 hour or would have gone
  21. I can do most things just as badly with each hand. Cast any side but do wind right I play baseball, golf, cricket, pool & table tennis with both hands mate says that it is cheating especially the serve. I wore out my right hand as a teenager so had to practice with the left Rod I have a pile of old reels that have broken anti reverse switches. I believe the only reason for the reverse switch is so "POMS" can reverse & play with carp to make them more sporting I will stick to using the drag thanks
  22. I went with blackout 2010 launched cairns Decent cobia in 20 mins then pretty slim pickings He did try but not much action He works more from trinity so have fun If you can a least take your own reel As he had good gear but used every day lots of joins in line etc
