i use daiwa exclusively and have done since i got my first series one 6hm millionaire way back in the early 80's which cauhht more big barra tuna trevally etc etc over fifteen years living in darwin and never let me down. since then i have used nothing else. i own two sol's three calida's and a red back now and thrash them constantly. ohby the way i still have the millionaire which is now my still my number one go to real when targeting big snapper on light line.....

SamN reacted to Keen as in First Fly Caught Rainbow Trout...
Well done SamN ,i,like alot of others also remember my first trout on fly, which happened not to long ago ,a nice brown of 39cm,now im addicted and tying flies and that gets even more addictive.searching for materials that may be lying on the ground, and skinning roadkill,i now have a hare pelt in the shed drying.hope you stick at fly fishing has been my biggest fishing challenge yet.again well done

SamN reacted to fishnuts in First Fly Caught Rainbow Trout...
Sam if you are going to fish for fish that may actually pull some line off the reel then make sure you are winding with your dominant hand. So if your right handed swap over the one way bearing and strip all the line off and then put it back on so you are retrieving right handed. If you are fishing for fish that don't take line (like small trout) then you will get away with having it as a left hand winding reel. It's very frustrating trying to wind fast with a fish swimming at you if you are winding back the line with the non dominant hand.Just my 2 cents worth Cheers Dazz

Nice fish Sam, I remember my first rainbow on a fly. was taken on a red and black Matuka in a victorian metro dam. Almost like a giant pond. I will remember that moment my whole life. I hope the memory of landing that fish is with you for your lifetime.well done. Those whacky Americans..LOL
