Sting Ray spots

hi everyone, does anyone know of some good string ray spot landbased in adelaide ? or s.a caught a couple a while back off a jetty loved the fight they put up but havent been able to get one since ? any help would be great hook size or baits as well

grange jetty in the shallows , use fresh mullet for bait.

any of the metro beaches or the port in the shallows,just add berley.I've even had them come up to my feet when worming with a stinkbag. cheers brenton

st kilda of fthe end or up the top on the right hand side squid is the best you could easy catch 3 or 4 massive ones a night most close to 50kg or even the odd horse 100kg plus which i have caught out there a few times

squid as bait ? an ur talking about walking out to the end of the rocks ? an fishing to the right side ? isn't the channel markers a problem when hooking something that will run ?

torrens outlet on the beach side. pilchards or squid or any fillet of fish on a single or double hook running rig. had a ray on the size of a car bonnet before cutting the leader. or the garden island boardwalk using the same method.

At the end of the Outer Harbour Breakwall you get the ''unstoppables'' apparently. Might be worth a look.

I'll add the otherwide of the road to the hotwater outlet at the powerstation. Eitherside of the bridge there too. I have hooked some big rays chasing Mulloway in this general area, and seen some some very excited anglers that reckon they have hooked into world record jewies and refuse to be told their marathon efforts will be in vain Also that boardwalk has seen some nice eagle rays caught.I'm not a fan of rays, but have hooked plenty chasing Jew in estuary and Snapper offshore

everyone has covered pretty much alot of the spots we have fished. seen some rompas at brighton jetty.just remember dont be scared to cast into a foot of water.

some of the jetties along yorkes hold big rays... have hooked onto and surfaced the big resident black rays at Ardrossan many times... port hughes moonta pt vic/vincent and them all hold decent rays...

The marina rockwall at Glenelg. Ie the rockwall where the fancy resteraunts are located.Fish either of these two breakwalls and you can get some thumping rays.The other place where if you use fresh whole squid you will be smoked by ray after ray is Marino rocks.

got this one front of old quartantine station port river get heaps of em and some biggins great fun bait squid and fish fillets st's etc.6/0 hooks with just nuff weight to get to bottom.

all the local jetties. I used to have more luck at Semmy and st kilda but that was a long long time ago.

been off the platform an all along the outta habour channel off the rocks a few times, the whole time been hassled by crabs eating my bait :(been opposite the quartine station along side the sub corp spent about 8 or more so hours got nothing as well, MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG

i dont like fishing for anything else , i wanna hear my rachet go off screaming i tryed fishing for shark for a year didnt get anything trying the ray's now an still not having luck i seriously think im doing something wrong or im not meatn to fish

A good place if u dont mind fishing the planks is port giles - fish the section before the first expansion-heaps of good runs to be had

another 6 hours today in the port river , so ive fishing from the platform to the end just crabs everywhere, sub corp as far as i can go either side of it, in total ive dont about 48 hours an nothing , starting to think that there are no ray's in the port river

Cant believe you've had no interest at all, they are there.Are you staying in the one spot and berlying hard? 6 hours in the one spot down powerstation way with plenty of berly in the water should have the doormats poking aroud I'd have thought

Anything smelly,pilchards or fish frames chopped up well.I don't know how you will go there though as the current from the outlet might disperse your berley before it leads them to the bait,also it pretty rocky out deeper and i'd imagine they would bust you off cheers brenton

I actually meant barkers inlet near the powerstation on the flats, not the powerstation/angus inlet with the rocks and stuff, sorry wasn't real clear. Anyways good luck

I've been fishing the Outer Harbour area (Veitch Rd round to the Yacht Squadron) pretty hard since about Christmas (Land Based) and have only seen two rays (one little Eagle Ray and one Very big ray in the yacht marina)......both when I had berley in the water though.I haven't been targetting them though......I only have access to frozen baits and have found they just get destroyed by small bream and such in no time.
